BREAKING : Barry Bannan - “A lot of people are leaving behind the scenes. It’s not a great place to be at the minute”

Recommended Posts

This is a great interview, really positive. Honestly.

Let’s be honest - the only people fans feel really connected to are the players, and our best ones at that.

If you want Chansiri gone then it’s a big shot in the arm for BB to come out and speak that way.

Sort of confirms the stories over the weekend that there is a shake up behind the scenes?

Also sounds that he doesn’t totally expect to be at the club next season?

Good no way can we pay him what he is contracted to. At least the two years means we have a chance of getting a reasonable fee, unless DC ******** that up be letting him walk by not paying him

BB always comes across as an honest bloke, sounds a bit fed up of the uncertainty behind the scenes and took the opportunity to have a public dig, fair play to him.

And let's just say that a Portuguese birdy told me Patterson is fuming about the situation and is one of those that has handed in his written notice.

But remember, Chansiri promised short-term changes and yet here we are, a week away from returning to pre-season training and still an absolute circus behind the scenes.

for a club trying to rebuild.

What have the club done to show that they are trying to rebuild?

I've seen nothing at all.

I dunno, DC released a stock statement about bouncing back within 72 hours of our relegation.

...

And then you take a step back and realise that's it. That's all we've had for five weeks, save the internal promotion of a former crisp salesman to the position of COO.

We're so far into a crisis and I really don't think most fans realise just how far into a crisis we are. DC's gone IMO, in all but official paperwork.

You can't hold anything against BB or any player here.

Lets be honest, if any other business was "operating" on the same basis that SWFC are right now, it would be as a sinking ship ahead of shutting down. It's only the benefit of being a football club and that such a thing seems unfathomable why anyone could expect anything to change.

The entire atmosphere around the club stinks. Morale will be in the pits. Uncertainty around wages and employment status, people leaving behind the scenes, that sense of what's coming next..

The club have put these players in a position where they have to look after themselves. Quite frankly even just reporting for pre-season next week is probably a greater sign of loyalty than the club deserves at the minute. BB's only responsibility here, with the club in this position, is to himself and to make sure he has job security and wages coming in.

What many of us have wanted is a bit of honesty.

Bannan has said how he feels, nobody can blame him surely.

Still not sure why he signed a new deal though, had he not done he could be picking his club right now and negotiating a tidy signing-on fee with no transfer fee to pay. Now he will have to sit tight as the club put a value on him that no other club will pay as they all no we are skint and will just hard ball us down until the last day of the transfer window.

Had to wonder if Chansiri was wising up when he got Bannan  under contract at a reported £27k /week.

He surely can’t afford to pay that sort of money so  the plan was to sell, not run down the contract, especially if relegated to L1.

I can see him at Norwich; they’ve just sold their playmaker. Sold him for  £37m, and they’ll get Bannan for £1m - £1.5m.

Bannan can't cut it in the Premier League as a playmaker. Why do you think he is still with us.
