Ellis Rimmer
I love looking at old league tables and stuff like this Some stuff that sticks out New Brighton in the league- seaside town near Liverpool, an eccentric rich bloke bankrolled them and made a huge 80kish stadium that obviously nobody went to Leeds must have got to the 1st division pretty quickly after forming Corinthians still is FA cup despite being amateurs There was a King's park in the Scottish 2nd division. Must have been a tasty one v Queen's park Denaby which is a small village in Doncaster is being covered in the midland's league
Pablo Bonvin
I've just googled Kings Park FC. Was a football club based in Stirling and played at a stadium which also hosted animal racing, and I quote the lovely Wikipedia "usually greyhounds but also cheetahs". Wtf?

thewookieisdown
Thanks. Always fascinating. They were well off compared to, say, Poland, but WW2 did Brentford no favours. Struck also by the name of Liverpool's scorer. He turns out to have been a Saffer, and one of several who played professionally in England in the 30s
