Popular Post nickswfc
Whilst there have been poorer players on the pitch than Jordan Rhodes. In terms of fee, expectations and overall output I can't think of any worse The huge transfer fee The amount of games where he offered absolutely nothing Perceived weak mental state (too scared to take a penalty) His inability to score consistently (and before anyone pulls out the 'service' argument, both Fletcher and Hooper managed it with the same players around them) The pressure to play him constantly when arguably those on the fringes would've performed better, key example Sam Winnall 13 1 1
Popular Post Marro
Rhodes’ Wednesday career was a great disappointment. There are many reasons / excuses for this. However, his signing was not as bad as Abdi or that Emanuelson fella in my opinion. There have been a plethora of poor signings during a Chansiri’s tenure. The list continues. 15 1
Socialist_Owl
Urby for me, nothing about it said anything but agent nonsense. Out of nowhere signing, predictably did the square root of feck all on the pitch.

Popular Post Bluewings
Hard to argue he wasn't tbh. Nothing was expected of Emanuelson tho was a totally weird signing... When we blew £3m on Abdi we had a decent side and he was supposed to be the icing on the cake so even if he was a total non event it didn't really affect us. Rhodes was bought when we had 4,000,000 strikers....but his goals was supposed to fire us to the PL Doesn't matter how you look at it he was probably the biggest flop in our history.
WatfordOwl
It was a horrible vanity signing to appease that fans that were clamoring for us to go after him at the time. Noone really could be certain that he was a shot bolt before we took him, same way we cannot be certain that is definitely the case now. Sometimes, it just does not work for a multitude of reasons. Should have worked and didn't.
morganowl
purely on fee wages he has been a disaster but nowhere near the worst based on the pitch. izzy brown prob cost us 25grand a week my god he is a fraud of a footballer , marriot season loan if we spent the loan fee elsewhere we almost certainly wont have got relegated he is the worst signing ever , abdi was another huge wages and stole possibly 35 grand a week ,the list is endless in fact its so criminal its hard to believe ,are these same fools in charge of signing players this summer if they are league 2 here we come.
Popular Post SallyCinnamon
Yeah probably. But I won’t knock the lad. He didn’t decide his transfer fee. He gave his all from what I saw, came up short on occasions but I think was underused quite often. Good luck to him

Very strange signing.
FARGATEOWL
Not just the fee, the mental wages that went with it. Shame but we move on. £ for £ Jeffers was worse, it took everything we had and he never delivered or looked bothered.
Suzuki_San
It's hard to quantify, but...when you look at the financials, it's hard to argue against it. Jeffers had a reputation and came on a fat wage, but nothing close to JR. Shouts for De Bilde, Jonk...Lunt (wasteman), Abdi obviously. Urby was an oddity, but was hardly here 5 minutes. Ranger...Bothroyd, bus? Can't have cost us a lot. O'Brien had a good reputation and failed...but can you say any of them came close to disappointing us all as much as Wednesday fan JR? No.
FinnishOwl
I'd say Abdi is the worst. At least Rhodes has been pretty much available all the time.

He is no longer our player, along with 9 other's, so why the nastiness to these player's?. Is it the scroats that go on social media to hound people that are posting this crap?. 2

Good luck to him but the plain fact is we paid him to score goals and he didn’t. He was definitely our worst value signing ever. 1

Basement Jack
For me Abdi beats him i was indifferent about Rhodes from the beginning. It baffled me how Scotland were so poor up front but never had him in the team, or the squad for that matter despite his remarkable scoring record at that point. Abdi though.... I had seen Watford a few times and he was class a proper footballer he oozed class I can honestly say in the past 20 years I’ve never been as excited by a signing I still can’t get my head around his spell here For me I’ve never been as disappointed in a player.Pound for pound our worst signing I cant believe I’ve just wrote that! But it’s true

But it’s true 100%. I have to feel that something went awry, be it injury, mental health or a combination. Especially as he then went straight into retirement. Either that or he just thought feck it. Like you, was absolutely gutted how it turned out because I thought that was the one.
