Jordan Rhodes - Huddersfield Medical

Recommended Posts

Good luck to him. Was a huge disappointment in the first period he was here when others were well ahead of him BUT in the last 2 years he was vastly under used by all the managers and one reason we are in League 1 now.

It's definitely annoying.

Seeing all these players leave, that we've invested hundreds, if not thousands of pounds into.

The leadership has been all or nothing and we've ended up with the latter. A painful experience for us and Chansiri at the same time.

It would be completely reckless to continue with the same advisors, that got us into this mess.

You're assuming that Chasisri took advice from the "advisors"

In terms of the fee and wages spent on him by the club, has to be one of, if not the the most disappointing signings(sorry for stating the obvious)the club has made. There were glimpses but we never got the Jordan Rhodes we thought we were getting.

Comes across as a nice bloke and hope the move works out for him.

Still cannot believe we signed him when we already had Fletcher, Hooper, Joao and Forestieri...let alone Winnall & Nuhiu who couldn’t even make the bench.

The money we spent on Rhodes could and absolutely should have gone on a LB, CB, CM and RM. At the time replacing Loovens & Pudil as well as upgrading Wallace & Hutchinson would have probably taken us up that year and made is a significantly better team in the seasons that followed.

I was a critic of Rhodes but people need to get over that penalty

This!!!. I think as fans we just need something or someone to put the blame on for us not being good enough to do the job, which really should have been done before it even got to penalties.

If fans are allowed to criticise previous managers who haven’t been here for years for what happened in their time here, why can’t we criticise players?

He was our record signing who has one of the best goal scoring records around, and he’s scared of taking penalties. I think it’s reasonable to say we should expect more from a player of Rhodes’ calibre, and for me it raised serious questions about his character and whether or not he could bounce back.

Just had a look and Rhodes has only ever taken 21 penalties in all competititons through his whole career and he missed 5 of those. Thats not really a great conversion rate at all for someone who at one point was lethal in front of goal. It could just be that hes one of those players that feels/knows hes crap at taking penalties and just doesnt want to take them. For comparison (not in overall ability before anyone starts), Bruno Fernandes at Man Ure has taken about 44 penalties and scored 41 of them in a few years less than Rhodes has been playing. Some players are cut out for the pressure of taking penalties and others arent.

Didnt work for Rhodes here, but hes never hidden, always tried when hes played and seems like one of footballs genuinely decent guys. Good luck to him, but we need tonow move on.

Very strange fans wishing  him good luck and sending him off with tears.

He did absolutely nothing for this club, played like a 6 year old boy for the first three years. Little bit of effort this year - so he could get a new club.

Baffles me.

Lump it on him being top scorer in championship next season 🤭... it's the Wednesday way .... saying that he only managed 7 goals in 27 appearances for Norwich in the league (9 starts and 18 subs) and 3 goals in 2 appearances in the FA Cup 🤔

100% it was utter madness.

7 strikers was beyond lunacy. I can understand Chansiri having little football sense, but how can he show such poor business-sense. Extremely worrying.

There is no 'wednesday way' its a myth...sick of seeing it on here..things that are called 'the wednesday way' happen at all other football clubs

A very valid point.

Using and adding up total minutes played across all comps, he has only played the equivilent of just 61 full games for us. For comparison, he played double that amount of minutes at Hudds and almost treble that amount of minutes at Blackburn.

I know stats cant always be relied upon for a full picture, but they do show hes hardly been used or given a full run in his time here compared to elsewhere.
