The Night-Owl Posted May 19, 2021 Share Posted May 19, 2021 Awful signing, seemed a nice guy, really wanted it to workout for him here but his confidence was seemingly eroded before he even joined us and we never saw the best of him. Too often numerous reasons or excuses were made for Rhodes not replicating his earlier career form for us but whenever he did get a chance or finally got a goal or two, he never kicked on or built from it. He was our record signing who has one of the best goal scoring records around, and he’s scared of taking penalties. I think it’s reasonable to say we should expect more from a player of Rhodes’ calibre, and for me it raised serious questions about his character and whether or not he could bounce back.
