thought at one point he was going to come back down the mountain when he was zigzagging

Wouldn't have blamed him if he'd got off and carried his bike up.

Not watches the stage nor highlights. Did Bernal lose the time or did he treat Yates with contemp with him being as far back as he was.

Not watched it myself yet, but from reports, yes he definitely lost time and it would have been a lot worse without Martinez dragging him up.

Also rumours it's his back.

In other news I'm giving up predicting this race. 😂

if it is his back, is it time to lump on Danny Martinez. Might be a bit later for him to do a tao geoghegan hart but nobody apart from Bernal has looked great in this giro.

Can't see him taking enough time off the other 5 riders in front of him as well as Bernal.

Also I presume Almeida who is riding well would take time off him in the TT?

But what do I know.

Watched the last 40 kms last night; surprise ending.

This all smacks very much of Yates/Dumoulin/Froome back in 2018. A leader who was seemingly invincible and who was willing to chase for stage wins whilst consolidating his position then showing cracks in the middle of the third week. And everyone now looking, ironically, to Yates to make a real fight for it. I hope he does but he can't leave it till the last couple of kilometres of a stage.

Great to see Dan Martin win a stage. Literally wrestled his bike to the line.

Ok so I've been wrong aboit everything... but...

I think summat might happen today amongst the GC.

I don't think a few teams want Bernal to have an easy day.

Might be very fast and chaotic.

Ok so wrong again lol.

Great ride by Bettiol today... particularly after yesterday.

And god those kits are nice.

Lovely touch with Roche after the finish too.

Ok, back to GC battle tomorrow.

Last 40 kms.....short climbs, fast descents, narrow roads. Typical Lombardia route.

If it does hot up and Bernal has back problems he could be in trouble. Going to be a tense day for him whatever.

But my guess, with two big mountain stages to come, is for nothing to change on GC.

What a tipster!!!!

Watched the last half hour or so and it looked like the peloton were on a Sunday morning club run.

Not a bad shout lol.

So if I say Bernal to keep or stretch his lead tomorrow that should give you decent odds going against me. 😂

Though I hope Yates or Carthy can have a good day and maybe close things up.

Left his attack too late?

Today?

Don't think it was hard enough to get much more than he got.

And I don't reckon he wanted to go too deep with Saturday to come.

All down to tomorrow, they need to really try and work Bernal and Ineos over from the first climb.

Think it'll depend on how many others will work with them... and obviously on how bad Bernal actually is feeling.

Think Yates needs to be within 20-30 seconds of him before the ITT to stand a chance.

*obvs this will all be wrong.
