Anything other than all out attacking football is unacceptable....

Recommended Posts

We need to set up with a positive attacking line up, Derby are as crap as us so let’s take the game to them, like we did against Cardiff. No use sitting back for 90 minutes just hoping for the best. None of this pathetic negative crap like we saw against Forest.

High tempo, high press - yes.
Gung ho from minute 1 is suicide.

I agree.

Should only be Gung Ho if we need a goal in last 10 mins and nothing to lose.

Predict for the neutral it wont be a very good game to watch.

Too poor sides, low on confidence and plenty at stake rarely makes a good match.

Might be interesting though if 10 mins left and we both need a win.

I wouldn't be gung-ho from the kick off, 90 minutes is a long time.

Agreed, no excuses. We always looked tired and tbh hopeless, in second halves when we were playing twice a week. Now it’s only 1 game a week, we can press hard and attack for 90 minutes.

I wouldn't go gung ho from the start. I do however want to see some positive intent from the start, rather than a passive hour then deciding to show intent. Which can be demonstrated by our tempo and pressing.

Has anyone mentioned that we need to get plenty of swerving shots away?

Seriously you’re dead right. The weather is going to be horrendous apparently, so get Reach unleashing some. We need to win this in the first half. We’ve only scored 1/3rd of our goals in the 2nd half so it’s no good sitting back hoping to nick it at 75 mins.

The key time for us on Saturday is 11.30.

When we open the teamsheet.

This - we’ll win.

           Westwood

Urhoghide Hutchinson Borner

Palmer Joey Paterson Bannan Reach

     Rhodes Windass

If it’s anything like the abominations he’s picked for Bristol City, Boro and Forest we can’t win.

If we go to Derby then we better be throwing everything we have at them for the full game in attacking football, as we just haven't (or had) the players capable of sitting back, inviting them on and seeing out the games (for either short or long periods) on a 1-2 goal lead.

Dont think we have anywhere near the quality to do that - if we had we wouldn't be in this bloody mess. I think it will be like a cup final very nervous start players terrified of making mistakes although it hasn't stopped our lot from making plenty so far this season. Ultimately it will be down not who dares wins in the second half.

Agree, first goal is the killer. Derby (of late) have been scoring first, that has been game over (all season) as far as we're concerned.

You can also flip that as well because SKY said at the weekend we have dropped 27 points from a winning position.

Going to be a nail biter, just hope they turn up and don't roll over.

All out attack for any football team is suicidal.

Think that depends on who you are playing...normally I would agree though.

This game is different, if we can score early and keep the pressure on derby could easily roll over, I don't think rooney would know what to do...panic probably.

The reverse could also be true🙄

Anyone told Borner of the plan and which colours we are playing in ?

Given the quality of some of his recent back passes he’s more likely to make an incisive through ball to the Derby strikers
