We have all seen our team is lacking in backbone this season. Think it would be a mistake to throw Luongo back in.

But we really do need players who will give it all for the cause.

Westwood in the net

Hutch, Dunkley and Palmer in defence

Bannan and Pelupessy in midfield

Windass & Rhodes up front

The rest - meh. Those players have to start

Dunkley is as bad as Borner , I'd play uroghide.

From what I've seen of Dunkley, I am far from convinced.  he's been pulled off more than once in the second half of matches and given his injury situation I dount he'd have 90 minutes in him.  The only way I'd consider him is if he is properly fit, as his style may be best suited to Kazim-Richards.  As for up front, I'd say Paterson "gives as much for the cause" as Rhodes, though I'm not sure which I'd start out of the two of them.  Of course, based on previous games, we may go again with just 1 up top.

I'd pack that 8 out with Paterson, Shaw & Reach.

Mainly for the energy & commitment of Paterson breaking from midfield.

Shaw & Reach because we don't really have much else to choose from.

If Luongo is fit then I would play him. He has trained for a couple of weeks now.

Otherwise derby will just push Bannan back deep where he will be on JP’s toes and set up and defend.  Luongo much better going forwards , and we need to win.

Tricky one with Luongo..on reflection I'd play him from the start.

We need at least to start the game on the front foot.

If he fades he fades but he'll push midfield up initially.

I think it would be a waste if we bring him on when chasing .

I thought hard about Luongo before posting this

But I just don't think we can risk him

I’d play the ones who might have at least had a few grand put in the bank if there are any. If not, then I fear a lacklustre performance regardless of who plays.

No wonder he's looked very relaxed.

We can start Luongo because you get 5 subs.

If it goes belly up, he comes off and we still have 4 subs left.

We have to roll the dice.

This is the line up for me. It fills me with dread, but I think it has the most goals in it. If we can by the grace of god, get off to a fast start, then players like Reach and Palmer may have a little confidence. If we are straight on the back foot, then they will wilt, like the little flowers they are.

I really don’t want Borner to play, he’s always got a mistake in him but we don’t have any other left sided centre backs.

Our recent good showings have both had Borner early goals from corners. Only games we've done well in. I'd start him and hope for a repeat of that rather than the mistakes. We're gambling and trusting to luck anyway.

and...Van Aken might be fit........

This is what id go with. Ive have tried to go for players who would give their all.

            Westwood

Urhoghide Dunkley Borner

          Hutch Shaw

Luongo  Bannan Harris

      Windass Rhodes

A 50% Luongo gives more than Reach, if Luongo is half fit it think it gives us a real shot in the arm. Harris is the gamble but hopefully his pace could cause problems.

Could swap Shaw and Bannan if required.

Reach stays at home.

Harris, Kachunga or Green, slim pickings really.
