Popular Post eightbelow
I knew Mick wasn't well but to hear of his loss today was really difficult. I was messaging with a friend today about Mick and playing for the Shakey 30 odd years ago and saying that all I could remember was just laughing all the time with Mick and having a great time usually taking the ******** out of each other or someone else. The hardest thing about living away is that you seldom see the people you grew up and rarely get a chance to say a real goodbye. As I am getting older this is happening more and more but today really kicked me in the nuts. Mick was an absolute belter of a fella and you couldn't find anyone who had a bad word to say about him, sleep well pal, you earned it. 6

sheriwozgod
My first contact with Mick was after we had beaten Newcastle 4-2 in Wilko`s first season , i met a new girlfriend that night in the hole in the road and the first pub we went in was The Old Blue Bell..............big mistake , it was full of geordies who seemed hell bent on smashing the place up , and Mick was the lone bouncer, poor lad. I remember a few years later he got a lift with us in a car through a friend of a friend for an away game at Notts County in Big Rons promotion season, spent the day with us and drinking beforehand.............was a lovely fella............RIP.
