Probably going to be used as leverage for the top 6 to get more of the premier league/champions league money.

Give us more...or we will leave.

Read an article a couple of year's ago, think somebody posted it in here that said the top 6 wanted to be allowed to broker their own tv deals and keep the money for themselves.

Let em go.

They can be on satellite TV as much as they want, we have a choice to not watch.

I used to think it would be great to have a football-exclusive TV channel in  the colony in which I live. Slowly but surely that eventually happened and our sports channels showed every EPL game plus most cup games and internationals. You know what, it became overkill. Boring. It killed my interest and passion in football.

Yesterday I watched the MOTD highlights of the Cup Semi-Final. An empty Wembley (well it's not Wembley really is it) 2 teams from the top 6 (again, yawn) and the 7 or 10 minutes they showed encouraged me to switch off. It just seems so meaningless. It should've been an occassion to be celebrated, a special day, but the 2 EPL games were on before.

Football is finished unless it gets back to its community values and relates to real folk who care about the game

Irony, sky sports employer complaining about too much money in football

Well, Sky have played their part in fueling the monster now known as the "big 6".

Not sure why Spurs and Arsenal are involved in a super league of Europe’s best teams.

It's perfect for the owners of Arsenal.

They have zero interest in competing properly in the PL these days, so nothing better than a super league where they'll get paid a fortune to finish wherever.

Stopped the watching the Champions League the moment every Tom ******** and Harry were allowed to qualify. It should be for the League Champions only.

Spot on. I've just seen Gary Nevilles crocodile tears about the breakaway league who was quite happy to see Manchester United earn hundreds of millions on the back of entering the Champions League when they weren't Champions.

Bang on. They'd become just like all the franchises Kroenke owns over the pond, doesn't matter to him if the Rams, Nuggets etc. do well or not as they print money for him either way.

In a Super League Arsenal wouldn't run the risk of missing the Champions League and costing themselves hundreds of millions as they do now.

As long as Arsenal finish top 4 every season it's job done as far as the owners are concerned

Agreed. A closed shop with guaranteed cash suits them.

The whole idea is ridiculous and disgusting on every level, but it’s a bit of a joke that a team that’s struggling to finish top half and another that’s won bugger all for 40 odd years is being considered.

This IMO is the great thing about the Bundesliga and is why it is the best league in Europe. Their clubs cannot and won’t join. Whilstever the fans control 51% of their clubs the likes of Bayern and Dortmund would never join something like this.

English football and a lot of top level European football is completely rotten.

Maybe get Rangers and Celtic in?

At least we would know who is going to be in the bottom two every year.

The arsecheeks leaving would be the best thing ever to happen to Scottish football. Sadly there’s absolutely no chance.

If it is a closed league as expected, it'll be shiit for whichever club ends up the runt of the group and finishes bottom year after year.

It'll be shiit for their proper fans but their owners won't give a monkeys as they'll be coining it in.

It was said in jest, but I get your sentiment.
