Official :6 English teams agree to Super League

These people only make decisions on a financial basis, they've probably had legal advice that if the EPL, FA or UEFA decide to expell them from all competitions then there's nothing they can do about it.

They are busted, the fans of the clubs wasn't happy with many of the owners anyway, and I expect them to be shamed out over the coming months.

Reckon FSG are done.

The proper Liverpool fans won't forget or forgive this.

Must add Gary Nevilles voice in the last few days has been absolutely massive ...he has totally nailed the things that the rest of us wanted to and hammered them home and hasn't hid behind anything...massive respect I have for that bloke.

They will be able to use leverage - its mainly that the format of this proposed league could never work

Without a shadow of a doubt there will be changes made to sweeten things for the biggest clubs - there always is

Like when they wanted to negotiate their own TV deals and pull out of the collective arrangement - they were rewarded by getting a much bigger slice of the cake although the deal was still done collectively

This isn't going away

It was a poorly conceived product that was never viable in the first place

One way or another those clubs will be beneficiaries

They've played their hand now though.

Next time they say to UEFA "you'd better give us what we want or we'll have a breakaway league", UEFA are going to fall about laughing.

I'm sure they still wield a lot of power, but the nuclear option is gone now.

Really hope Perez gets to oversee Real Madrid going bust, but it won't happen will it

Where is their leverage? Surely they just lost it when their threat of a breakaway league proved untenable. They will always use their size to lobby for more but in the last 48hrs they just forced a situation that showed their “big threat” is no threat at all.

Add to that they almost certainly guaranteed more government regulation on behaviour and ownership.

That Arsenal chap is looking vulnerable as well, already plans are in place for a demonstration against him on Friday

Kroenke.

The fact is quite a few of these owners had a pretty dodgy relationship with the fanbases anyway.

Arsenal fans, Man U fans and quite a few Liverpool fans have been pretty vocal about these owners in the past.

Plenty of Spurs fans who don't rate Levy as the guy overseeing the club.

Proper unworkable now.

Cut their own throats.  Made a laughingstock of themselves and the clubs.  Given the fans a weapon to batter them with forever more.

I bloody love football.

But if only one day we could unite with the same passion and anger at all the injustices that happen in the world.

Just imagine what the human race could be capable of.

Sadly the country is very rarely in almost unanimous agreement about anything, even when it feels like it really should be.

And that's why it's collapsed.

Amazing naivety of some saying it's the fans that have made them change their minds. Don't make me laugh. Absolute garbage. Must be because these owners really, really care what the fans think?!  🙄

'A victory for the fans!' Wakey wakey.

They have, and they have also lost power to UEFA now too...they still have the pull of the TV money but this ESL that they have been secretly planning behind their other PL owners backs and the rest of football has backfired on them ...its the biggest own goal they could have scored, and just think 2 days ago they were all thinking of all that money from JPMORGAN.

Greedy set of baßtards but thankfully the normal bloke won this time .

Now is time for regulations....lessons need to be learned from it.

The idea that this lot can just back out and shove out a press release, then be welcomed back with open arms, sickens me.

Football CANNOT let this slide without severe punishment.

Point deductions, financial penalty, transfer bans.. it all has to be on the table. I’d be shocked if any of them get thrown out of the league but the maximum short of that needs to remain on the table.

-30 for all 6 and a 3 year transfer ban. See how you get on with the top 4 then.

Because the structure was wrong

It wasn't a breakaway as they wanted to maintain staying in the UEFA structure

The nuclear option is completely leaving to join a new structure entirely

Obviously it would entail them leaving their domestic league too.

It's far from over

Might die down for a season or 2 but the financiers will be working on another plan

No way are uefa and the pl going to be anything but jolted

they'll already be formulating sweeteners to keep their biggest assets

Kick all six out. Make most of them rejoin at the bottom of the pyramid.

And ban the scousers indefinitely
