We only need 7? So are none of the other teams goin to pick up another point then?

That's out of our hands.  The 5 we have left are in our hands.

Despite everything, it's still not over, yet.

Sadly it is over.

I didn’t listen tonight to the game so cannot comment on how we played.

But it was going to be hopeless.

And tonight we played Westwood Hutchinson Bannan Lees Reach Palmer Rhodes.

SEVEN players who helped us get to 4th in 2017.  I still reckon sacking Carlos was a terrible mistake.  He got them to play a bit.

Which backs up the OP’s point about the team having talent.  Of course they do.  They seem to have forgotten how to apply it though.

The team that were relegated on the last day of the season v palace

were worse than this

no two ways about it

Leon Clarke showed more passion breaking his own toe after scoring in this game than I’ve seen from any of this team.

This is easily the most dismal team I’ve seen in my time. Too many carrying the stink of failure around with them (including Bannan, unfortunately).

I said seven points "at the moment".  We can't control other games, we can control our own.

5 games, if we win 3 we are in with a chance.  There's other teams suffering a lack of form, not just us.

They've been pretty much awful since January 2020.

God knows what happened, but since then I've seen so-called professional footballers produce performances that I'd be embarrassed by as a 34 year old amateur, with a dodgy quad and biscuit back.

They are a disgrace and it is the dipstick owner who sets the tone.

More chance of seeing the Queens tuppence.

Can anyone remember what the players said after the play off final?

The players said they'd get promoted the following season because the fans deserved it.

Then they gradually got worse season after season.

Never trust a footballer. They're disingenuous shysters.

This isn’t a good thing.

7 players in this team who have gone through the motions of falling from the play-offs to this without any real accountability.

Like I said above, they’re carrying around the absolute stench of failure at this club with them. It’s not healthy for club or players. They all need a move - Bannan included.

How many more manager will we get who were defenders in their playing careers who have a team that concede goals for fun.

Bruce, Monk, Pulis, Thompson, Moore

Maybe just maybe stop bringing in former defenders as managers.

We're going to get humbled by some very small clubs next year and it's going to hurt. The owner won't have a clue how to turn this situation around.

The first time we dropped to League One in 2003 we finished 16th. 3 points above the drop.

This year Wigan are 20th, 1 point clear, after relegation last season.

How confident are you of even staying up next year?

Yep, I think we could be in for a long period in the wilderness.
