11, even - otherwise, we've got two JBs in goal.

A regular starter for a team in mid table premier league... By that definition alone he should be nowhere near this list

They all sound like 70s ITV detectives or criminals

What they did to us was definitely criminal!

Jim Hinch. Signed by Big Jack on a short term contract in late 1977, ten minutes as sub at Cambridge on the Saturday, contract cancelled on the Monday.

Oh, and how can you include Fred McIver in a worst XI? Brilliant, truly brilliant player.

Just because he's your Dad!  lol

Jacob Butterfield

James Quinn can't possibly be in there. His last minute scrappy goal at Hull sent us crazy.  For that alone he is elevated above this.

Going from recent memory and only including players who actually had a run of games for us...

Martinez - we’ve had mainly decent keepers last few years only picked him cause he had a string of stinkers on loan

JVA - sorry Joost but that game vs United and others...couldn’t even make a tackle

Ash Baker - started a few games under Jos, looked completely lost

Can’t think of a 3rd!!!

Paul Corry

Butterfield

O’Connor? - (the small midfielder we had who went to play in MLS...used to practise heading in warm ups...)

Maghoma - Maybe not the worst, but I just remember him being so underwhelming and wasteful whenever I watched him play

Jeffers

Bothroyd - the worst player at S6 I have ever seen

Taylor-Fletcher

You clearly weren't around in the mid 70's.

How about such luminaries as:

Ronnie Ferguson

Roy Coyle

Danny Cameron

Eddie Prudham

Neil Ramsbottom

David Herbert

Ian Nimmo

Andy Proudlove

Derek Bell

Peter Feeley

Fred McIver

Goodness knows how many others, and that's just between 73/74 and 75/76 seasons!

I was thinking the same.

Boy, that really was a bad time to be a Wednesday fan.

Tommy Miller was ok when he played and a cut above Potter and O’Connor, but like so many before and after the majority of his time here was spent on the treatment table rather than the pitch

I don't understand why some have Jeffers down, he was a quality player that struggled badly with injuries, just got back fully fit and looking good and Shawcross does him from behind at Stoke.

My 11

Tidman

Ostemebor

Barry-Murphy

Carr

Branighan

Hallam Hope

Butterfield

Craig Armstrong

Fleming

Olsen

Terry Cooke

Sergiu Bus  Hallam Hope

     Jay Bothroyd.

Sub. Francis Jeffers

Best worst XI  ?

A few of these picks seem weird to me.

Kean was just a back up keeper who played one game for us at Cambridge in the league cup and didn't seem to do anything particularly terrible. How is he worse than Tidman, Adamson et al?

Emanuelson also played the grand total of one game (end of season dead rubber against Fulham before the play offs?) and I even seem to remember people thinking he'd played quite well.

Lachmann literally never played for us, how are we supposed to know whether he was crap or not?

I don't remember Baker being as bad as some are making out either.

Abdi was always injured but put in some good performances when fit, remember that volley he scored at Forest?

I'd say something like

Chris Adamson

Maurice Ross

Danny Maddix

Rhoys Wiggins

Jon Beswetherick

Stephen McPhail

Jacob Butterfield

Darren Potter

Kim Olsen

Jay Bothroyd

Francis Jeffers

Playing Wiggins slightly out of position but whatever, he was an unexpectedly awful signing.

We've had worse than Butterfield but his attitude absolutely stank, Bothroyd is probably the only Wednesday player I've disliked more. That whole front three makes me want to curl up in a ball and scream.

Did you like Stevie May and Sergiu Bus?
