Does anyone believe the EFLs FFP rules are actually helping the game in anyway? Seems a right mess to me

I think the rules have made the EFL like the PL B team league via stealth.

For a while you were getting players from the premier league playing in the championship as there was good money there. It was becoming an extension of that league.

Now you just look at the teams and it’s almost like premier league U23s and over time it will be moreso. Clubs, due to these rules, hoping to develop a good one for a nice payment from the PL for doing a job. Might take them longer to get promoted themselves though.

Ive always thought that if you can afford to lose 89m like Stoke or 60m like Wednesday but if you can’t afford to lose 39m as permitted and went under, it all starts to look a bit daft and shows it’s more about control.

No one should have any punishment during a pandemic.

Leeds have got to the promise land and racked up £62m debt, its affected everyone.

The EFL (and Sky) should be lucky the season got played out because tbh it should have been stopped

it was only to make sure they didn't loose money it got played out.

Chansiri is an idiot and our points deduction this season is fully deserved, but for this season most clubs will

have done well to survive imo.

Aren’t accounts due six months after financial year end?

Given that 31st July. That’s 31st January

3 month extension by companies house is April as you say, but looking at what Luton are claiming, the EFL are demanding accounts on time and aren’t reciprocating the companies house extension

Derby haven’t filed accounts for 2 years

Coventry Stoke  and Huddersfield all saying it accounts production related

9 months

If our accounts aren't due until April is this to do with the previous year?

No - the accounts due in April ARE for the previous year

Why the hell can't the EFL come out and at least tell the fans ( through the media ) what this is all about, seriously they are a total joke and are now becoming the reason why clubs ARE getting into difficulties with their heavy approach.

Let's also remember there are 10 clubs on that list, so nearly half the division 😆!

Why the hell can't the club make a statement? The EFL clearly have rules about whether they are allowed to make an announcement.

Great post. The the gulf has become quite large over the last couple of years.

Getting ridiculous now, it’s also going to end up stopping players earning a living, if half the clubs can’t sign players where are they going to go?  It’s clear the rules these clubs are voting for aren’t working.

As per the Coventry announcement earlier it’s administrative in nature ..

almost like “computer says” at the EFL.
