He could have done a lot differently. For a start, he might not have made on arrival a change to the system just because he likes it. You play a system to suit the players. His record here is appalling.

Disagree, too many managers  have pandered to the players and still failed. We've had no footballing identity for years, rather Moore's philosophy than continue to let players take the pisss.

I agree. He would have signed 10 players in January and kept us up. Chansiri was never gonna allow that. And in the long run did we really want that type of football? They would have all needed replacing again at the end of the year when a new football minded manager came in.

Lets be honest Chansiri gambled. He thought we’d stay up this season then he could go again in the summer. It’s backfired big time. And it’s all his own doing.

Monk shouldn’t have been here. He shouldn’t have appointed Pulis. Thompson was kept too long and Moore had no chance.

IMO he has to back Moore in what he wants to do in the summer and hope we have enough to push for top 6 next year otherwise it could end up being another long season but this time at bottom end of league one

The fact of the matter is he has to back Moore if he doesn't we'll have a side of U23s playing for us at best. Some have said we'll struggle to field the full quota of subs.

How low have we sunk, how we lose is now much more pleasing on the eye?.  We may as well pack up and call it a day if that is now the level of our ambition.  When we're leaving Hillsborough in August having been beaten by Accrington Stanley we will have a warm feeling inside as the pleasure from the eye glows around the body and eases the pain of paying £42 for L1 passy out from the back football.

A lot of our squad dont have the basics at this level. First touch among some is woeful.  Some cant pass in a straight line. Many are in for a rude awakening if they think they are going to breeze through League 1 cos trust me mate - they aint.

I don't think most will be here... Some will come out of this well with a decent contract at a championship club. Great isn't it....

Pulis had a premier league track record and how did that work out

His results were awful but little worse than DM's.

And with a promotion to the premier league track record, he could recognise how many players were sub par. He felt free to be blunt about how reinforcements were needed and was 'going with what he have " ( his phrase) until January. Then he was told there was no money make any signings. He thought that December was just an interval before he could assemble a team.

There is a real danger of losing sight of how it's a results business.

The Pulis appointment as one of the worse in the clubs recent history

The whole thing stunk of Paxio getting one of his cronies in. Pulis has no interest in the job and only came for the cash. A manager of his experience would have known the squads capabilities even before he took his first training session

We were loosing games under Pulis and the football was awful. Even if he’d have got a few players in it would have been a turgid grind to watch with no guarantee of survival

At least so far with Moore we are much better to watch and we are actually now creating more chances. The issue is the same any manager would have had is that a high proportion of the players aren’t bothered due to fact they won’t be here next year

Moore would have had a decent shot of keeping us up if he’d have been brought in at the start of January. Not having a proper manager in place for such a long period of time is just one of a long list of mistakes that can be laid at D.C’s door

I think this season was the quintessential perfect storm:

  • Points deduction
  • Loss of two decent players in June, who where not adequately replaced
  • Poor player acquisition - Brown, Kachunga, Dunkley etc.
  • Key injuries to Iorfa and Westwood
  • Going into the season with Monk - he should have gone at the end of last season.
  • Waiting too long to sack Monk.
  • Employing Pulis who whilst had a decent rep of managing in the Championship, didn't have his heart in it and perhaps thought he could just shout a bit and things would change.
  • Not playing Rhodes and a system that played to his strengths.
  • Not employing Moore earlier.
  • Not using the January transfer window to improve the team - Hutch and Green were not an improvement.

We deserve to be relegated - it's been coming and until we ship out the failing players and re-structure the team and style things won't change.

I'm hoping irrespective of whether DC is still 'in-charge' Moore can at least have a crack of getting a team and style that we can get behind.

add Luongo’s injury too, and that’s a good summary.
