What about the Arctic Monkeys? Who do they support?

Alex Turner must support the Owls

His dad was my music teacher at school and was a Wednesday fan, had a Wednesday pennant in the rear window of his green MR2.

So if Alex doesn't support the Owls, his dad has failed in his duties as a father 🤣

I think Palin went a few times to Hillsborough in the early to mid 80s

Im sure there’s a photo of him talking to Curran in the Wednesday dressing room after a game against Derby in the early 80s.

I believe he was also at the 1991 league cup final and possibly the 93 FA cup final.

I don’t think he is an ardent supporter of either Sheffield team tbh.

I always think, in Sheffield with regards to people in the public eye, you tend to have to go one or the other from the off even if you don't like football. Unless they support someone else entirely.

Kell Brook tried the whole "I like both teams" stuff, doesn't wash. People I think would have been behind him more if he'd just said he was a blade from the off.

:duntmatter:

Thought it was about Michael Palins famous love of backstreet knife fights tbh. I was seriously mislead.

He has on numerous occasions on his travel programmes said to people that his team is Sheffield Wednesday when football has come up in conversation with people. I saw one the other week in fact.

It's perfectly understandable, really.

I mean - if you were a celebrity Sheffield United fan, would you admit it to the wider public?

Better to retain an element of respectability by claiming Wednesday.
