I think they're some truth in that- my late grandad followed the pork (although Nana was a Wednesdayite!) but he'd always prefer Wednesday to win if up against a southern side.

Anyway I think he clearly doesn’t have a specific affinity to either and it’s more a case of broadcasters saying “what celebrity do we know from Sheffield who will say some nice things ?” 

Yeah, I remember, around the world in 80 days. I think he was working with rubbish men in Venice. There was a trophy thrown out and he waved it above his head 'Sheffield Wednesday!'.
