A Simple Game

Pass, move and show for the ball.

I was taught this as a junior at about 8 years old.

 

We have very few players at the moment who do these basic things.

I honestly think some believe they are too good to run for the ball. I watch some of them strolling around at walking pace with no desire to find space to play.

I think the problem is more the players are simple as well.

Most of our players act like they're simple!

Not that simple anymore - you have to have your flow charts , green positional field charts , and your vest for analysis . No wonder I never made it !

We don’t seem to have any intent. There is no plan it seems being implemented and so we have zero impact......and yet not one but 3 or 4 coaches fail to rectify this

So frustrating seeing us in possession only for us to play it back to Westwood because no outfield players get in positions to receive the ball. We then lose possession anyway after punting it to their players.

Totally agree,was thinking that on every time we had men on the ball,I was actually shouting at the TV,for gods sake someone move for them,only not as polite.

Watch City ,I know that is an extreme case of how it's done,but everyone is on the move all the time.

The number of our players who just stood there behind Norwich players without trying to move and help was crazy.

Don't know if it's fitness or just brain dead,but like Owli said ,it's what we were taught as kids.
