Inspector Lestrade 23,215
Sheffield Wednesday can confirm that midfielder Liam Shaw has signed a pre-contract agreement with Scottish Premiership side Celtic. We are currently investigating this matter and will consider if there are any further steps available to protect the club’s interest. It was not our intention to place this development into the public domain out of respect to all parties concerned. However, we were contacted by Celtic informing the club of their intention to formally confirm this development, which was revealed by the former Celtic manager in a media briefing. Both clubs exchanged statements in advance of a coordinated release but Celtic have since ceased correspondence to this end. Shaw remains a Sheffield Wednesday player until the expiry of his current contract and will be available for selection for the remainder of the season. We will make no further comment at this time. 2

Ellis Rimmer 7,479
He will just end up like all the other promising young kids that go to big clubs too early. Set himself up for life at likely expense of his development.
striker 8,025
Think we knew this a long time ago. Be interesting to see if Moore wants to put any effort into him as he's no longer in our plans. The other argument is to play him until he breaks, no skin off our nose now (Celtics problem) and can protect, rotate some other players.

I think currently Shaw is in the team because he's currently good enough so I would personally play him every game as we don't need to worry about burning our young talent out now.
Groundhopping Owl 4,586
What is there to "investigate" other than our ridiculous failure to tie young players down to proper contracts?

daveyboy66 11,339
Doesn't this just mean we can give him a better deal and cite Celtic for not formally confirming the deal as the reason why he's not leaving ?
