Popular Post Noleafclover
Hi guys I'm new to the forum, I've been reading for a few weeks and really enjoyed seeing everyone's opinions ect. One of things I've seen that I can't really get my head round is the hate that Lee Bullen gets. What is it that people have against him? I wasn't the biggest fan of his when he was a player or anything but I think he's been a good servant to wednesday over the years and obviously loves the club. 15
Kopparberg
Down to the profession I think. If he works in a supermarket, he’d be appreciated for the years of service. 1

I wasn't the biggest fan of his when he was a player or anything but I think he's been a good servant to wednesday over the years and obviously loves the club. First of all welcome to the site mate and thank you for joining! So here's how it happened The hate towards Lee Bullen started when a few of our fans went onto his Twitter and slagged him off and threw abuse at him and so he just blocked them Those who were blocked didn't think 'yeah I deserved that actually' Instead they went and boasted to people how they'd been blocked by him and how that made him a really bad person So their mates then sided with them and started also posting hate about Lee blocking people Some even went onto Bullens twitter to try and get blocked themselves, then they would take a screenshot of the screen saying they were blocked and tweet it round boasting about it and saying how bad Bullen was for the club for doing it etc etc Then other people saw it and just jumped onto the bandwagon and started posting hate and eventually it was no longer about Bullen getting abuse on his Twitter, but just general hate - saying how he's responsible for our downfall, been here too long etc etc - all because they've heard others slate Bullen They just jumped on a bandwagon like sheep without actually questioning why or what they were doing or Bullen's position on why he blocked those people There will be some who claim that they haven't been aware of any twitter stuff but who will have jumped on the bandwagon any started laying into Lee Bullen anyway because others are doing it. Note - Some will try and excuse it as saying he's been here too long and should be sacked (without ever being able to explain what he's done wrong specifically, or even what his role/responsibilities are and what he's actually responsible for - they're just saying 'nah just sack him') and some will say he failed as a first team manager despite him being thrust into the role when he's an U23's or Academy coach etc Going back to Twitter - He blocks people who abuse him to keep out negativity and abuse from his life He should be applauded for this Those who throw about abuse on people's twitter feed should also be blocked (and reported) to take away their voice and leave things like Twitter to the decent people There's too much hate around and people's mental health gets damaged. It's time for it to stop. 42 6 8 Owlstalk Shop

matthefish2002
Think motivation is same you see on here and twitter on this and other subject. People don't necessarily hate Lee Bullen more they post something to get attention and get a reaction. Probably same to how some people are after a few drinks.

Don’t assume that’s everyone’s motivation and use it to dismiss criticism of Bullen. The reason I and others on here have had issues with Bullen is because he’s been a part of the furniture. At times when things haven’t been working, we’ve had accusations of the players being too comfortable, mental fragility etc, we’ve needed to freshen the team up, he has remained a constant. He’s shown his limitations through stints as manager which failed after the initial bounce. He’s been a great servant but at some point you have to say it’s time to cut ties and bring in new eyes and new thinking. Sure, we’ve seen managers able to bring in their own staff this season, but it’s been such a colossal mess it’s not a stable barometer to judge against. And no, he isn’t the only problem, he’s just a part of the puzzle. His results as stand in manager are very good, especially considering they have usually happened at a time of either a run of bad results getting a manager sacked , or in the case of Bruce, chaos as your manager and coaches walk out a few days before the season starts. 1

swfcGibbo
There seems to be this weird obsession with the one nightmare game we lost with Bullen in charge. 3-0 i believe against Burton Albion. Granted it was a poo performance but what we've seen since and from other managers doesn't compare. People love to hate Bullen as he's been here a long time and see that as part of the problem. Clubs need individuals like Bullen who have been around for years and continue to step in when needed. I remember watching the Amazon documentary on Man City and they had the kit man who had been with the club for years. He had a tremendous rapport with some of the international stars. IMO Bullen get's unfair abuse and seems to be an easy target as he's an approachable, good guy. Lord Snooty
When the do-do is hitting the fan - which it is in every conceivable way at our club - people look for reasons. There's not always have any rhyme or reason to the thought processes. 3

If things get worse which many people believe they will I expect they will be a new scapegoat every 2 weeks some people will focus on outside of Chansiri. It will be the manager, certain players and also any staff like Lee Bullen who have been employed by the club for a while.
Emilianenko
Lee Bullen has been a constant in the first teams downward spiral. Since he has not been with our development squad they have believe it or not developed some first team players. He’s just not very good and needs to go. 1

CircleSeven
Twitter isn’t something I would ever bother with. It’s unfortunate that a vocal minority can cause so much misery! If people are being abusive they should be blocked on any platform. I’ve never met Bullen and don’t really know much about him other than any interviews he’s done and therefore don’t have a strong opinion on him. I do have a strong opinion on people who spread hatred and abuse though. They are scumbags!

ZicoSterland2
Don't know why people attack Lee Bullen, always steps up when required and in all fairness his results have been better than 3 or 4 managers of late.
The Wall
Yep, when a club is on the decline, a financial mess, points deductions, relegation favourites, the first question I ask is "who's the under 23s coach?" 1
Lord Snooty
It's an odd one. I did have an acquaintance at one time who was a blunt (Forgive me). When he fell out with Warnock, everything at the club was Warnocks fault. "But he saved you from relegation and then got you promoted" I said "Nothing to do with him. Everyone knows all the good stuff is Blackwell behind the scenes" Of course when Blackwell later took charge and was an abject failure this was forgotten. As was the previous hatred for Warnock "Should never have let him go. He'd have got us back up" Bullen is part of the failure. But then equally he was involved when we got to the play-offs twice. I don't know how good or bad a coach he is. I've never taken part in one of his sessions. Doubt many of us have, have we?
