Sheffield Wednesday players out of contract in June (about 13/14 weeks time)

Yeah would make great sense to renew the 30k a week,  play one week have a month off Westwood. Especially considering we are skint and in league 1

I didn’t mention that we should offer £30K a week, I mention those 2 players are worth keeping. Westwood can’t stay fit but on his day, far better keeper than the other 2 available.

Brilliant. So In a years time when Westys stubbed his toe again we can be sat here after another defeat saying “we would have won that if Westy was playing”

Another idea would be to take Westwood’s 30k a week and use 15k of it on a championship keeper who can actually play more than 15 games a season?
not that we will need a championship keeper in league 1 anyway.

From that list of players, a fit Westwood would be worth keeping. However, you can’t get a full season out of him so no point.
However, you are suggesting that we shouldn’t sign any players that are better than the league standard we are playing in? Brilliant logic. You should buy a club.

How are we going to buy any championship players whilst in league 1?

We are skint and can’t afford them. Also no championship player with any kind of dignity or ability would want to join our rotting corpse of a club.

We had a massive clear out in the summer of 2004, brought virtually a full new team.

We went up season after from League 1 (Or whatever they call it at the time).

Think preparation though started about January with looking at players and identifying then.

If we haven't done any homework yet on recruitment we are already 1 step behind other clubs.

Predict a relegation fight again next season to stop us falling into League 2.

Turner came in November 2002 and took us down.. we stuck with him despite that being probably 2/3rds of the season left to save us. The year after was dreadful and we still had lots of the same players.. starter ok in League 1 then faded. Think Quinn, Kuqi and Pressman left on loan and they were some of the few half decent ones we had left. Then as you say summer 2004 we released everyone even the ones who were good enough as Quinn, Geary and Bromby all went to sign for Utd in the division above. Then we brought in a whole new team, started the season badly and sacked Turner in September, then brought in Sturrock and made the play offs.

Following that plan we’re only in early 2003 right now.. can’t see Moore taking us down then staying for a full season of mediocrity while we reshape the squad. He’ll be fired long before Turner was

or keep the players that fail us over and over? This lot would take us to league two without a whimper.

Get Urhoghide tied down with a contract, get shut of the rest and give Moore a free reign to get this club back up.

My thoughts exactly👍🏽

What a list !!!

Out of that lot Tom Lees has been a good player for Wednesday... dips in form here and there, but generally  pretty good. It’s probably time for him to move on.
The rest of them can leave and I won’t shed a tear for any of them .
Hutch should never have come back and the youngsters have got “ George Hirst syndrome “... we think that they’re better than they really are because they are surrounded by such ineptitude.

Buy will be a stretch but we should look to the loan market, finding young, promising players from PL who need first team experience. If we just buy run of the mill L1 players, we will have same result as this season.
