The Night-Owl
Hoddle; Beardsley, Sheedy and Sheridan were pure class to watch. Loved the likes of Southall, Anderson and Adams too.
Lord Snooty
Bobby bloody Davison. One of those players I had one of those really irrational dislikes for. He always looked like a roofer to me.

mcmigo
lots of those lower league players went on to really good top flight careers -Laws, Phelan, Cascarino, Morley, Parker, Pallister, Kelly . Dont get many now who go up from bottom 2 leagues into long top flight careers.

There aren't as many opportunities for them as the games awash with foreigners now.

Striggy
Thing is we had no social media, internet or wall to wall football on TV in those days, yet I know nearly every name on there from all 4 divisions. Haven't got a clue about most other teams players these days, but then again don't play them there modern footie games. Edited March 5, 2021 by Striggy "nobody told me there would be days like these!"
