Line up moving forward

Recommended Posts

If the new gaffa does end up reverting to his favoured 4-2-3-1 moving forward.

GK - Westwood / Wildmsith

RB - Palmer / Odubajo / Dawodu

CB - Iorfa / Lees / Urhoghide

CB - Dunkley / Borner / JVA / Brennan

LB - Penney / Galvin

CM - Luongo / Hutch / Pelupessy

CM - Bannan / FDB / Hunt

RW - Harris / Kachunga / Adeyonin

CAM - Izzy Brown / Windass

LW - Reach / Green

ST - Rhodes / Marriott / Patterson

Looks a lot more functional than the current formation.

Pretty sure Westwood is out for at least a month with broken ribs.

Iorfa out for the season.

Luongo - 2 weeks

Not sure what other people have seen, but I’ve seen enough of Paterson to know that he cannot play with his back to goal. He just isn’t able to do it, and to my mind, he would be better employed in the next row of three. His best performances for Cardiff, were when playing there, arriving late into the box, but always able to attack the ball

Who is the better alternative playing with their back to goal then ?

Looks a good line up. 2 in the net and 3 players in every other position. We should smash everybody. 😉

That’s the elephant in the room. Out of those we have, I would imagine Rhodes would be the best in a Darren Moore 4-2-3-1 system, especially if it’s played like he did at Doncaster, where it’s ball into feet.
Of course Rhodes is far from ideal, but I think he’d give us the best cutting edge, but more importantly, it would allow Paterson and Windass to play in that second line. In his limited appearances for Norwich, Rhodes was used that way, understudying for Pukki As I said, not ideal, but in a 4-2-3-1 set up, it allows us to get our three most likely sources of goals into the side
