WalthamOwl
Just been reading about his last few jobs, Lambert was appointed Stoke manager in January 2018 but was unable to prevent relegation, he was then appointed Ipswich manager in October 2018 but was unable to prevent relegation. new zealand owl
Not sure what the situation was at ipswich in terms of budgets etc but league position says he's done a poor job down there.

Think that's just the reason the media have been given. More likely it's, the takeover is going through and they don't want Lambert so have put pressure on Evans to get rid. 1 hour ago, megsonstheman said: Bannan has gone on record stating he is the best manager he has worked with. e6owl
Past two jobs involved him taking over sides facing relegation (Stoke + Ipswich two seasons ago), neither worked out. Third time lucky?

He initially said he enjoyed working under Lambert and praised his man management: https://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2018/01/04/sheffield-wednesday-midfielder-barry-bannans-comments-about-paul/ But then Lambert bombed him out in a way that Bannan wasn't overly impressed with: https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/i-didnt-want-to-inside-18156771 Take what players say with a pinch of salt sometimes. Fletcher said Monk was one of the best managers he has ever worked for and brought the best out of him. Also said he was settled in the area and happy to stay. Wasn't enough to convince him to sign a new contract though.

Appointing Lambert would feel like preparing for the 3rd division. He has hardly inspired his team for the fight, I can remember the rather insipid way Stoke went down under him. He won his first game in charge against relegation rivals Huddersfield then failed to win any of the next 13. Would be ideal for our last 14 games, at least we'd get one over on Rotherham!
