Popular Post Owl 44
Forest were floundering. Got in Houghton, who we wanted, and are now doing much better. Bristol City were floundering. Got in Pearson, who we wanted, and are now doing much better. Cardiff were floundering. Got in McCarthy, who a few wanted, and are now doing much better. We wanted Cook. I suspect he will go to Ipswich and do well with them. Meanwhile we continue to flounder and Chansiri does nothing. I'm now resigned to relegation but we need someone in quickly to start rebuilding for the future. He is leaving us to rot and it breaks my heart.
Popular Post areNOTwhatTHEYseem
The time to act was late December / early January. Thompson did well to pick up some wins against the odds and in spite of some poor performances, but to leave our survival in his hands was both negligent and unfair to him. That we're still discussing this when it's March next week tells you all you need to know about Chansiri's attitude towards our club right now. 18
BRADDO
The word is clearly out there among decent, experienced managers that Swfc under DC is an absolute basket case. It's as though someone has taken deliberate, malicious actions to run the club into oblivion. But, I'm confused as to who gets something out of it. Surely not DC after the millions spent.
WalthamOwl
Completely agree with you. Very jealous of the other clubs that have got new managers in and had an upturn in results. We should have got a new manager in as soon as Pulis left, we should have had one lined up like other clubs seem to do. As you said we don’t stay up this season but we need someone in place for the challenge next season of getting out of league one.
Kopparberg
I don’t think he himself expected to sack Pulis when he did. I think the bust up came early. We’ll probably get no one or Chris Coleman
Shetland Owl
cannot understand why DC has not appointed a manager, what ever happens we need a manager now so he can start planning for next season and to give us all a boost. Get Cook in
malek
Thought Thompson did top job today, we were set up perfectly to beat Luton, certainly not guilty for 2'nd half melt down.
WalthamOwl
Didn’t Chansiri say he was going to take his time to make the next appointment because he needs to get it right? 1

davey_wells
Just think as well, Chansiri has stitched Thompson up to do the job and hasn't even bothered to make a decision and give it him properly. He hasn't been given the job, even temporarily as that would trigger a pay increase for Thompson. As soon as we get a new manager we're talking a big new wage being added. Chansiri can't pay the existing players and staff.
oneeyedmilkman
The same man who was criticised at the start for micro managing everything, has for the last few months allowed his multi million pound business to be effectively run by Thompson, Bullen and Weaver. Whole club's a basket case at the moment.
Kew Owl
Word has probably got round on the managers grapevine that Chansiri and SWFC should be given a wide berth. I suspect that that probably accounts for the failure to appoint a new manager more than disinterest on DC’s part
ashley8
Nobody wants the job..... Call Megson! Until end of season (no longer!) At least he might help them to fight and have a bit of passion for Wednesday. If nobody else wants to come (who could blame them) gi Meggy a shout!........... Plonk
Nobody wants it, and yet Cooke, who the chairman has publicly criticised is still stood in the corner with his hand up shouting “ me me me’

The more attacking approach was refreshing and clearly worked. But anyone could see Hutchinson was done for before the hour mark and he didn't replace him. Leaving Brown on for a full 90 minutes when he has barely had more than 15 minutes in any game in the past 4 months was questionable. His tendency to keep subbing centre-backs off is a bit strange as well, how many teams make tactical centre-back substitutions during games. Lets face it, he is not cut out to lead a Championship team in a relegation battle, no team in the entire EFL would be considering taking on Thompson as their first team manager. It's not his fault, his experience and strength is based on being an academy coach, he should not have to be burdened with the responsibility. Hamakua Pueo
If a new manager/head coach were to be appointed today/tomorrow, this would mean that in effect the season was divided into 4 roughly equal quarters, each with a different manager with a distinctively different approach. This seems like it ought to be material for a hand book called “How Not To Run a Football Club, Especially During a Relegation Scrap.” In context it might be better to stick with Thompson. It is hard to see how, with so much of the future of everything about the club undisclosed, a new manager would be expected to produce a new manager bounce. When we sacked Monk and Pulis, their coaches went with them. Asking Thompson to cope without the same assistance that managers usually get should never have been a long-term plan. Yes, I imagine Pulis' close friend Megson would jump at the chance to work with Chansiri and co.
jonnyowl
Its not just a manger we need its a whole new coaching team. When was the last time you watched Wednesday and thought, they've been working on that in training.
