For me the seasons done.

We need around 22 points from 14 games. 1.57 ppg, that’s essentially us winning 7 of our remaining games. We’ve only managed to win 9 of 32. It’s over. Plan for L1.

We won't plan though. We never do. We will need a manager and a whole new squad in the summer with next to no budget and an owner that's given up. We'll throw together a team of mercenaries again and the manager will probably get replaced again.

Did you watch today?  If you did then surely you cannot believe that a team which caves in like that and has lost 5 out of the last 6 games can suddenly find the character needed to get out of this mess.

Your absolutely right about that.

DC won’t plan anything. He’ll probably still think promotion is achievable.

League 2, come off it

The problem is that the system which got us relegated from this division will remain.

Chansiri will bring in a foreign manager who knows little about the division or lower-division players in general.

And Paixao will continue to choose the players.

It's a re-run of what's already happened, but at a lower level.

IMO this is why Paixao would never have sanctioned Cook, because Cook knows much more about lower-division players than he does.

If Cook chooses the players and builds a team to get us back up, that leaves Paixao redundant.

Are you seeing any signs of things coming together for us, though?

We capitulate in the vast majority of games against our bottom half opponents.

Even today when we do the unexpected and get ourselves a two goal lead, the writing is on the wall as soon as we concede the first sloppy goal, and when we do fall behind, we've yet to rescue three points this season's n.

If we'd appointed a manager and strengthened the squad in January, we might have a chance. As things stand, I'd be amazed if we stayed up.

The chairman has abdicated his responsibilities and left the U23s coach to try to rescue our club.

I’m genuinely confident he will sell up when the season ends

Honestly think we’ll sneak out of it... not sure at who’s expense but we shall

Still begs the question of whats the point "sneaking out of it"...Cos this crap is gonna be here as long as Chansiri listens to his current "experts"...

Or..even as long as Chansiri is here...cos boil it all down...He has been abysmal

Agreed apart from Dave Allen ere but it's close

True but there were some highs too, play off final win, Sturrock and we could afford to watch the matches at a fair price.

Can see a struggle next season in L1...like Wigan Bolton and a few others.

If people want to give up with 14 games to play, their choice.

The team is poo, weak and full of injured nobodies, but we are where we are and we've got what we've got.

We don't need 50 points per se, we need one point, one goal, one goal difference better than third from bottom, and we are just a few points from catching that team up with plenty to play for.

The team has shown it can get a run together, and shown it can collapse in equal measure.

When there's still hope then we carry on.  When the fat lady is already banging her groupies backstage after her gig, then we can look forward to League One.

I dont think the current Wednesday side is the worst I have seen in my time.

But it has the potential to be in the next 2-3 seasons with some many players out of contract, our dysfunctional recruitment system and no decent manager wanting to touch us with a barge pole.

Think League 2 is far more likely then a return to the Championship anytime soon.
