Bigblueowl
If we had managed to get promoted to the prem for the 2017 season where do you think we'd be now? Would we still be playing prem footy, would we have had another spendageddon and signed quality players or do you think we were just destined to fail long term? alanharper
We'd have paid £40m for Abdi instead of £4m and given him £300k pw

areNOTwhatTHEYseem
Probably sat here bemoaning the fact that Chansiri spunked £1bn up the wall, rather than £350m. 2 1

Mainsey
Exactly the same position. We’ve seen money wasted on garbage and old championship players. That shows if we got promoted we’d likely have done the exact same but on old and garbage premier league players. We would’ve likely gone down and spent stupidly to try get back up but wasted it again and be on the verge of relegation (as we are now)

pat blondeau
We’ll never know but given the incompetence of Chansiri since then I’d agree we’d have likely ended up where Hull are

Would you be happy with a Norwich type scenario where it seems they're prepared to be relegated but seem to concentrate on getting prepped mid season in the prem to win the championship to following season? Norwich fans seem to be ok with it!

Kew Owl
Destined to fail long term - the one season in the Premier League would quickly have become a distant memory. With Chansiri at the helm, it’s a downward spiral

toppOwl
With Chansiri's shambolic way of running the club now fully in the spotlight, yes it would have been a disaster, I think doing so surprisingly well in that first season actually gave him the belief that he could do it all by himself, promotion would have exacerbated this.
