Past Member
Can only be Hutch. Lees did ok - it's telling that we have reverted back to forever passing the ball to Lees, in precarious positions.
A E Neuman NYowl
Another stinker of a performance, looks like the tactic was to kick it into the corners and chase after it. After the sending off other teams regroup and make it difficult, we were wide open for ten minutes and the goal was no suprise with our lack of fighting spirit, it's the same when we go a goal down. Collectively this bunch of players are weak. Westwood. 6. Not to blame for the goal but don't think he made a save today. Palmer. 5. Seemed to go missing just after the sending off, but he did make one very good clearance. Lees. MoM. 6. Defensively sound but his distribution was poor. Dunkley. 4. Poor performance both defensively and distribution wise. Harris. 6. Didn't get much joy out of Pederson but keeps going and put in a superb cross that nearly got us a point. Bannan. 5 Another dissapointing performance not sure what his role was today. Hutchinson. 6 Did his defensive breaking up job OK but offered nothing offensively. Shaw. 4. Young lad who showed his inexperience with the second yellow, we do miss his energy when he is not there. Penney. 4. Thought he was really quite, did the one good run but no one in the middle for the cross. Windass. 4. Ran around and chased balls in the first half but the little he did have to work with was poor. Paterson. 5 Showed for the ball and won his fair share, Lees flicked on one of his long throws but no one there to take advantage.

Holmowl
Westwood - 7 no chance with goal. Otherwise sound Palmer - 6 solid as usual Lees - 7 won pretty much everything. Horrible with ball at his feet. Dunkley - 5 poor day at fault for goal Penney - 4 massively overrated. Don’t see a player in him at all. Hutchinson - 7.5 best of a bad bunch today. Needs to stop trying 50 yard balls Bannan - 6 not great but the only player with quality on the ball surrounded by 9 triers. Needs Reach. Shaw - 3 awful miss, stupid tackle Paterson - 5 tried hard but hopeless today. Windass - 2 what does he offer? Garbage today Thompson - 0 what was he thinking dropping Rhodes? Why did he change the front two after 74 minutes? Why did Shaw stay on?
Pieman
Our problem is simple - movement off the ball when in attack. Hutch and Bannan are not as active in the opposition half, they are always behind the ball. Patto posts up as an old fashioned no 9 waiting for the ball to be hit down the middle. Our wide men hug the touch line. That gives us 4 players, against 7/8 defenders, with only one showing any movement ahead of the ball. So, we hit it long to Pat or backwards to Westwood. It also means, more often than not, it is our centre halves trying to hit 50/60 yard killer balls. We have to hunt in packs, get more players forward and make multiple runs, ahead of the ball, into space. We literally never do this. When Shezza got the ball in front of the centre halves, he had 5 runners ahead of him and two full backs level or ahead of him. Like any quarterback, he just looked for the most available man and found him with the pass. Our players look up and have one player at best, moving into space. Centre halves and fullbacks are behind them, wingers and Patto tightly marked......
Rev Owl
Rhodes should have started with Paterson. Reach should have started instead of Shaw. When it became obvious the fullback had Harris in his pocket, Harris should have swapped wings. That's just my thoughts.

WalthamOwl
Hutchinson or Lees, Westwood did okay. Rest where a disgrace. Credit to Rhodes when he came on, did more than the other so called strikers.
Owly Mowly
Easy one - Hutch was the only player that had a good game (Lees did ok). What is wrong with Rhodes - not one manager has given him a run of games? Seems bonkers - play him regularly and he will get goals - something must be wrong though for many managers now to not stick with him

Rhodes did ok but I suspect your high rating for him will be driven by the fact that he looked sharp when he came on; however, he wasn’t MoM even if he did do well. Eh. I made Hutch man of the match. Guest Kagoshimaowl
A shambles. Westwood 6 did nothing wrong Palmer 5 poor Dunkley 5 had a poor game but why take your centre half off? Really poor decision from Thompson again Lees 7 good as always Penney 4 he’s CRAP Hutchinson 7 played well Shaw -10 moron Bannan 4 playing him on the left cost us the game Harris 3 did nothing Paterson 4 crap Windass 4 crap Rhodes 6 why was he dropped? Ridiculous decision Dele-Bashiru 5 not good enough Kachunga 4 what does he actually offer? Reach 5 didn’t affect the game Thompson 1 Absolutely appalling again. Thompson hasn’t got a clue. We’ve scraped some wins under him but is decisions are just as bad as Pulis and Monk. 1. Why change the formation? It’s a formation that has won us 5 home games on the bounce? 2. Why drop Rhodes? I’m not a Rhodes fan at all but he’s started to look dangerous in the last 4 games or so. Awful decision 3. Why leave Osaze out? He’s been outstanding. Makes no sense 4. I said yesterday that Liam Shaw should never play for us again and I wholeheartedly stand by this. Even if you disagree he should still 100% been left out today. The boy’s emotions will be all over the place due to agreeing that move to Celtic. He was a total moron for doing that sliding tackle and it has cost us not only the game but probably relegation as well. He’s an overrated player who would rather play for another club. Shouldn’t wear those blue and white stripes again and his idiocy yesterday proves me right. I fear for us, I really do. Thompson’s honeymoon period is over and we are playing all the top teams over the next few weeks. Need a new manager now!

legendaryswan
Tom Lees Head n shoulders above the rest, barely put a foot wrong. Bannan ran him close, little choice ahead of him,but picked out those that werent playing statues and tried to get us going forward. WOW weve got some dark years infront of us,wel be mincemeat in league one,we arent even average,Brum are quite easily the 2nd worst team n this divsison and theyve had us over, and quite easily

MOM - I gave it to Paterson - created more than any one else with his long throws - and that’s how bad we are !
Bouncing Owl
Westwood - 6 Palmer - 6 Lees - 6 Dunkley - 4 Penney - 5 Harris - 5 Hutch - 7 Shaw - 4 Bannan - 5 Paterson - 5 Windass - 4 Hutch best out of a poor mob today. Windass was anonymous, Dunkley isn’t good enough and Shaw is docked marks for stupidity whilst on a yellow.
