I think it’s been explained a few times in this thread but keeps getting missed. The boiler which should run the heating is 30yrs old and knackered so a frozen pitch will stay frozen.

Is that true or just a rumor??

If it is true then it’s another example of how to not run a football club.

Surely, a boiler that only really operates for two months of the year at most, wouldn’t cost the earth to be serviced annually, say around November time, ya know just in case winter bites.

If we had no under soil heating then fair enough, it is what is, still embarrassing for a club our size but there you go.

But, to actually have it and main component of it not work, we’ll that’s almost neglecting your duties to the competition.

A new boiler would cost less then Jordan Rhodes wages for a week.

False economy if this is the reason.

Boiler is fine, DC has run out of used twenties to burn in it. You heard it here first! :duntmatter:

May be a case that the system only has sufficient output to keep the surface free from being frozen down to a certain temperature. Think this decision may be in part to protect the pitch from further damage. The grass will have been dormant and not growing for weeks now. Ramping up under soil heating to thaw out the surface may kill the grass. Sure there are some allotment owners on here who could explain better.

The next midweek that is free is 9th/10th March. If it is played then we will have 7 straight weeks of 2 games a week until the next empty midweek 13th April. That will take its toll.

If the cup competitions had been postponed this season then this fixture congestion wouldn't be happening and players wouldn't be picking up loads of muscle injuries, but of course its all about money isn't it !

9/10 march is free for us but not Swansea who already have a rescheduled match on the 9th march.

This match will now end up being one of our final few fixtures

Checks fixture list. Wrong team !  Next opposants are Stoke !

Do they get wkend off ?  No !  They playin Norwich !

Vantage The Owls !

You do know that at some point we will have to play this game right, more than likely our next opponents after the rearranged fixture won't have played at the same time so that will be disadvantage The Owls when it comes around.

Surely we've at least tried to move this to tomorrow and Stoke back to Wednesday?

It just seems by far the most logical solution?

if the soil is like concrete, do you seriously think that a few hours approaching 5deg on Sunday will cure things?

Reminds me of the golfers who cannot see white frost on the greens, and get the mump on when temps are in use.

Don’t worry. We’ll have already secured playoffs by then.

This is what happens when you buy a Desso pitch from someone in the pub, offered cheap. Wow, can't pay players and now can't afford to heat the playing surface. Come on Chancer be open and tell everyone you are out of money and can't afford anything else. Please take all your Mickey Mouse companies and advisers in one of your DTaxis and get out of our beloved club.
