How to watch Sheffield Wednesday games on an Imax sized screen whilst at home - step by step

I think to dismiss the Gear VR like that proves you never used the Gear VR.

This VR is identical to the Gear VR in all ways - but with the improvements you'd expect from something 3 years newer.

In fact - I'd suggest that the Gear VR screen experience if utilised on a Galaxy S12 (with the 6K screen resolution) would be better than this. But Samsung have dropped the Gear VR (for now).

All the games, the football matches, everything - were available on the Gear VR.

Oh and by the way. Beat Sabre. OMG. Thats a game and a half

So, I have a Gear VR, which i havent bothered with for probably 18 months.

Should I spend £300 on this, or is it just going to end up gathering dust like the Gear VR?

Gonna wait until Apples VR headset - two 8k screens, and 12 external cameras

That sounds cheap

Appreciate there's a big difference in resolution, but if (as Grandad says) a lot of the software was available for the Gear and I wasn't gripped by it, is VR for me? Is there enough difference here to keep it out of the cupboard?

I can't see me watching full movies on it, so it would be about the other content.

I'm torn lol

It all depends really

The sheer volume of quality apps and content now is light years ahead of where it was even 6 months ago

Nobody can answer the question other than yourself really as it depends on the sort of stuff you like to do

VR now is almost like 'another internet' if that makes sense - it's virtually endless

I'll add to that - I've used VR before and wouldn't have bought one a year ago for the same concerns you have

But having got this one I gotta say I can't see me ever having a day where I don't use it

It's a totally different thing now

Even in the last three months this headset's had new features and so much new content and apps it's just getting better and better and better almost on a daily basis

I'm off to work in a bit, and will see my mate who has one and is egging me on to buy one. I'll quiz him  a bit more lol

Intrigued to know how fellow Gear owner @Grandad is getting on lol

Anyone fancy swapping Oculus user names? Watching some big screen together as one big happy owlstalk family.

Or maybe just throw popcorn at each other and call each other names - I dunno 😉

I am absolutely LOVING Beat Saber

Its literally worth it just for that.

But then - I could play that on the Gear.

If you're gonna get one - don't buy the big hard drive version you won't need it.

I don't think I'll ever watch TV on it - or films for that matter. But for VR meetings and VR games - the experience is great.

Is it massively different to the experience on the Samsung Gear? No. But it is still really good.

I'd give it a solid 7/10.

That looks class

Remember that this headset it brand new - it's only a few weeks old

What it's doing now is about 20% of what it going to do

Yeah another good one I reckon

I'm yet to buy any other game than 'Vader' episode one

I'm just hooked on the Wander app just mooching around the world in Streetview

lol

I bought Wander today - lost 3 hours of my life to it so far, love it!

Had a look at a couple of the immersive horror videos as well, in particular IT - now proper scared of clowns. Why do people in horror films always do the most stupid of things like investigate noises or go into dark, unlit tunnels?

I noticed that, got loads of features on it.

Really enjoyed just hitting the random selection to see where it takes you - put me in the Australian outback one minute, and then in the stunning Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Center in Abu Dhabi.

It's an incredible App for the price.
