Last nights goal - check these beauties out

Recommended Posts

God I enjoy us scoring goals!

Rhodes goal was good. He jumped for the ball as it came from the left which distracted the defender enough for him to miss it and then was super quick to recover his feet and get in position for the beautifully weighted cross from Harris. Cushioned header right where you want it to go.
Reach’s goal also came after good work from Harris. I think we’re it not for the deflection it was heading top corner.
Wycombe were poor but the conditions made playing any kind of game hard.
We scored two. They scored none.

Thumbs up Jordan!

Because it is

Early cross - delivered in front of the striker - Goal

Managers overcomplicate it

Last night we played like it was the 1980's

Win the ball, pass it wide, early cross - GOAL

Sorted

It’s the truth!
Why make it hard on yourselves? Put crosses into a man who is good at heading!
Wont always work but it will work enough times to score enough goals to win enough games to stay up!

Even if it doesn’t at least it’s enjoyable!

This ☝

Last night it showed you the goal from a camera which must have been to the left of Westwood's goal, and Reach's shot was nestling into the left hand corner before it got the deflection.

I’ve said this all along get the ball in the box from crosses. You get it in there and have players challenging and anything can happen. You can score like Rhodes did last night, you can get defenders panicking and not clearing the ball you may even get a penalty but you need the ball in the opponent’s box. As we played under the previous managers we never put it in the box result being we had few chances and fewer goals.

Mentioned in another thread, team spirit is there, everybody joining in with celebrations, Rhodes going over to Harris to acknowledge the ball, swarming Reach for his goal.

It's good to see, think it'll be important in the run in.

Likewise all the cheering you can hear, presumably from the coaching staff etc.

They're a team that appear to be playing for the manager and each other. Get em all signed up again!!!!

Well you’re making it sound simple and easy, which it will against Wycombe.

We won’t get half as many balls in the box against the better teams.
