One such player, who I was convinced would go on to good things, was midfielder Alex Higgins. He seemed to have everything as a young player, but really only managed a non league career Think he played one game for QPR Agree about Alex Higgins , had a touch of Liam Brady about him as a young un................think he finished up playing League 2 at Boston ? Tom Staniforth was a VERY promising centre half. A couple of midfielders from a little while ago i remember were James Cottingham and Jack Bennett ?...........................both looked talented , but after a year in our academy under McCauley they both looked broken and playing out of position. Andy Kiwomya..............................not sure we are allowed to talk about that one to this day.
crookesowl
Sergio Bus. Looked great in his first game, got a goal or two, got his own song, then turned to poo (or more likely got abandoned by our management).

Can't remember his name now though, probably wasn't even Serbian too or even several years ago... Rocky (and Leon) Lekaj? Norwegian but with Kosovan heritage, I think... I'm going to regret asking but what happened there? (apart from signing the wrong brother!). From Wikipedia, he looks like he was a Wednesday youth player in the late 80s... Yellowbelly
Rhys McCabe & Paul Corry. Were the future of our midfield not too long ago. Add Rodri to that as well.

He was manager of Earl Marshall FC when I was younger playing Sunday league, they were a decent side to be fair. Didn't realise it was a that what ended his career as a pro. gurujuan
David Johnson, the Dinnington lad, he could sometimess look a world beater at Central League level, and at other times hopeless Tall with languid skills, I think he went on to play for Lincoln
