He was unstoppable first half, always had the extra half a yard on his man to get the cross in and could've had a couple of goals himself on another day. Reach looked sharp as well today, worked hard attacking and defensively and deserved his goal. Rhodes, again, worked his socks off, good link up play, some good passes played through for Paterson, and again, deserved his goal. That system tonight seemed to suit Harris and Reach and they have the engines to play those roles. Harris was slightly at fault for their 1st half chance where they were asking for a penalty. Harris always a concern, as with the near penalty, when defending. Dropped a clanger in the 2nd half, but a clean sheet is a clean sheet. Lees - 7 - Stood tall up against a direct opponent. Solid. Dunkley - 7 - His sort of game. Won his battles. Loves to defend. Urhoghide - 7 - Stood up to the task of marking Akinfenwa reasonably well, but looks like he's growing in confidence. He looks like a first team player...which is a huge compliment. Harris - 8 - He goes from the sublime to the ridiculous. Aside from a real dangerous spell just before half time, his delivery was rank throughout. But, he was a constant menace, committed the full back and stretched the play really well. If he had a consistent delivery, he wouldn't be playing for us. Hutchinson - 8 - Very good performance. Protected well, and allowed Bannan and Shaw the licence to get further forward. His calmness on the ball seemed to radiate through the side. Reach - 8 - Man of the Match - After a relatively poor run of form, I thought he was tremendous at times tonight. His link up with Bannan in the 1st half was a real threat. Brilliant ball for Paterson's half volley, took his goal despite the kind deflection, but his work rate down the left hand side was something else. Would love to see his running stats. Bannan - 8 - He's so often the difference, and today was no different. He was the engine in midfield, and he probed and tried to make things happen throughout. Shaw - 7 - Like Urhoghide, the biggest compliment we can pay him is, he looks like a first team player. Strong, aerially dominant, and drove forward. Paterson - 7 - Works like a trojan. Linked up well, and provided a good foil for Rhodes. Unlucky with a fine effort in the 1st half. Rhodes - 7 - Looked sharp, looked hungry...which is something we haven't been able to say too often. Typical Rhodes goal...right place, right time, clinical. Overall... It was never going to be a comfortable evening, Wycombe ask questions and make you answer them. But, we can be very pleased with our nights work. Another good response to a setback, and on another night, we could've had a even bigger margin of victory. Any questions about commitment and work ethic can be banished on tonight's display...the key will be eradicating the collapses we've seen at Millwall and Coventry. Three points in a must win game, out of the relegation, five wins on the bounce at Hillsborough, six wins out of the last nine games... we can show a glimpse of positivity tonight.
