Also - they couldn't afford me...

Classy.

Is this about sticking up for the women's game or more about someone's ego?

They can’t afford her because her wage is massively inflated by a womens team living in the pocket of a men’s team.

If her team had to fund her wage out of money “they” make she would be part time on a pittance.

1st line management is imo the hardest job regardless of industry. I am not saying she can't do it  but she is at a massive disadvantage by not being able to fully relate to the people working for her.

I can see why a woman can be in charge of transfer policy, director of football or even a specialist coach but to succeed as  team manager she would have to be significantly better than her male equivalent.

True. You often hear of players with a ‘show us your medals then’ attitude if they feel

their manager didn’t achieve much as a player. Can only imagine that would be magnified if the manager happened to be female.

That is really disappointing to hear.

I'll be honest, I've tweeted before saying that she deserves a chance in the men's game.

Very experienced and successful, and if you are into your badges, she has them as well.

Initially she could work well as a pure coach with a DoF,  and take it from there .

Surely, to make a ground breaking move like this, money shouldn't be an issue. The ' Can't afford me ' comment is horrendous.

Seems like she's ruined any chance of making that break through now.

I'm not sure how good a coach she is

Money allowing her to accumulate some of the best players in the game is a big plus

For somebody performing brilliantly on a fraction of the budget of the big clubs i'd say Kelly Chambers at Reading is doing an outstanding job

Year on year too

It would be incredibly difficult.

You'd be fighting against so many preconceived notions and, let's be honest, prejudices.

Would the professional male footballers buy in? You can't say no, but I think it would be very difficult to get them onside.

The fact is, that whether Ms Hayes wants to admit it or not, managing AFC Wimbledon in League One is a much tougher gig than the one she currently has.

By acting like she has, she's probably done more damage than good to women's football.

The woman who fronts the Talksport WSL show was just as deluded saying she should be getting a Championship or even PL job, and basically reiterated everything Hayes said.

They argued she is so good because she's been at Chelsea since 2014 and bearing in mind how many managers Abramovich has sacked in that time in the men's team demonstrates her quality.

It's crazy how the BBC seem to be pushing women's football, putting it above league 1 and 2 for updates and stuff.

I'm all for building the game, but it's such an inferior version compared to the men's game it's laughable.

The fact Hayes and the talksport woman so adamantly argue different just shows how ignorant they are and damages the progress. They'd be much better saying, the men's game is faster and technically better, but the woman's game is improving and doing attachments and linking with the men's clubs has improved the women's game drastically

I'm sorry, but do these people actually operate in the real ******** world?

Utter drivel.

Cherry red lippo, ******** and arse are welcomed by the producers. Plain females with a far better understanding are n't given a chance.

Those selected by the producers are given a short book of football cliches to help them on the way to looking the part.

No surprises here though the same methods are deployed in the office too !
