I've been reading through interviews and programmes from the time recently. Another thing also stood out - what an impressive figure Howard Wilkinson was. Would love someone even now with his clarity of thought, modern ideas and desire to succeed. 3

Being able to stand up alone both at Hillsborough with occasional huge crowds over 40k and also some 10k plus away followings made the 80s better. 5

Wing Back
Saw my 1st game in '85 so that time & team will always be special to me, Lyons Marwood Varadi Chapman Megson Shelton Hodge But the 90's was another level. Atkinsons and Francis teams were a joy to watch. 3

Never suggested for one minute that Francis should be knighted. Can't seem to recall Chansiri on the touchline or taking training sessions. Nothing, aside from genocide, poverty and U2 is worse than football nostalgia , and we are the worst of any club at it . We always wonder why we can’t attract new fans and big crowds. It is simply as most of our fans always drone on about the past. Liam Palmer , poo , he isn’t Graham Hyde. Wasn’t it so much better in my day . This isn’t real football, get it long. Football is still brilliant. We are still brilliant.
