Pieman
Seconded. His control and passing are much improved. With confidence, I just want him to show for the ball more in the opposing half.
FreshOwl
Been very good recently, starting to look a permanent fixture
the_vinyl_frontier
I didn't watch last night, but so far this season he has looked good. So much more confident than previous seasons. He still has the odd mistake, but you can forgive that. Well done Joey, you're proving a lot of people (including me) wrong. Keep going
Popular Post Gob_Bluth
Never understood the hate myself. Limited player but there to do a specific job, most teams have them 16
Jack of Clubs
Didn’t watch the match just the snippets from Gillette Soccer Special. There was one clip he was having to do the job of 2 people on the edge of his own box going from one man to the next to stop a shot as Bannan was too far away from his man. Not brilliant but keep up the hard work Joey.
OhForAnotherShez
yes, when was the last BAD game he had. He's no world beater but does a specific job and is more confident on the ball now. Someone will be moaning about him in a day or two, or watch out - another scapegoat needed.
FinnishOwl
Has the attitude and the engine of a better player. Maybe some coaching has done good to separate him from Bannan. Happy for him
doubleo
He’s always put a shift in, is generally injury free (touch wood), and just seems to get on with it. Basic requirements I know but the last couple of years has seen a lot of our “better” players fall short.
Marc Degryse
Some guy posted some stats on twitter which showed Joey had averaged the most tackles per game in the championship. I've also noticed his passing has developed lately. There's a lot of positivity popping up - I'm not used to it! 7 1

Not brilliant but keep up the hard work Joey. That’s the trouble with most of our CM’s that have partnered the wee Scotsman. We’ve signed many more expensive players that have looked shocking playing by his side. It’s not easy doing the work of two men. Kieran Lee and his engine is only one who’s made it look easy.

Game seemed to pass him by too quickly, never in the right place to make a challenge and always seemed to be on Bannan's toes. But he as got to grips with pace of game now hardly ever gives ball away. And doesn't just look for Bannan to pass to. But unfortunately he is the fall guy so when we lose it seems to be all his fault
jonnyowl
Thought he did well last night and was unlucky to come off. Still think we need a 3 man midfield. Too many times do opposition players receive the ball in-between our defence and midfield.

Holmowl
Thought he was excellent and I was surprised he went off. (But what do I know? It worked). He has always been a worker, but he has added composure and passing now. Played some lovely attacking passes last night, and an absolute peach to the right wing on Saturday.
Popular Post Travolski
Unfortunatly for Joey, his role is to stop runs and hassle attackers off the ball, dirty job but every team needs one. Gives his all and has passion when he plays, think alot of the hate is because folks dont understand the job he dose, long shall it continue. 18

Thing is too, Semedo was EXACTLY the same type of player, yet he's revered as a hero and Joey's taken nothing but pelters since he turned up

I think half the problem with Joey is people are expecting a box to box midfielder, Joey sits deep and covers doing the dirty work He's not the best in the league but he always puts a shift in, glad people are noticing. Last night especially first half was the best I've seen in play. Pirlopessy.
