The signs have been all too clear for quite a long time (and even before any virus could be used as a smokescreen). Our squad for next season will be 'interesting' to say the least. Almost all of the last vestiges of quality will be sprinting out of the door after the last game without even getting changed and we'll presumably have a budget to replace them that makes Stocksbridge Park Steels look like Manchester City. For many years it has been miserable supporting this club, but at least some of those boards could say they had inherited the mountain of debt and were handcuffed by it. The current chairman created it and has seen us dropping like a stone in almost every way the club's performance can be measured. It's quite an 'achievement' to simultaneously be the chairman who invested by far the most funding and yet took the club arguably the furthest backwards. My thoughts precisely DJ. The lack of any much needed incoming troops is disappointing but totally predictable. More staff means more wages and we can barely pay the players that we’ve got. It’s also probably the reason that we haven’t appointed a new manager.
NOT jack whitham
Got a real strong feeing we are under an embargo again but got to say we have all seen bad days at this club but Chansiri has taken it to a new level, joke owner who has given the name of our club a new meaning... SwellOwl
Not surprised and surprised at the same time. With only the free market left, it will be a miracle for this team to stay up.

Barring free agents (which is all we've signed anyway, of course), we have to go with what we've got to see us through until the end of the season, as do our relegation rivals. So how do we reckon our business stacks up against the rest of the bottom half of the Championship, who we'll be battling against to avoid the drop into League One over the next three months? Who are the biggest winners / losers in your eyes? And will our failure to add a centre forward prove to be decisive in the final reckoning, or do you see us overhauling at least two of the teams above us? All the January signings are listed against teams' league positions below, so you can see how things currently stand and who they've added. 13 Luton 26 33 - Kal Naismith, Tom Ince, Dion Pereira, TQ Addy, Jack Chambers, Gabriel Osho (6 signings) 14 Huddersfield 27 32 - Danny Grant, Rolando Aarons, Jayson Leutwiler, Sorba Thomas, Richard Keogh, Duane Holmes (6) 15 Cardiff 26 31- Max Watters, Perry Ng, Jonathan Williams (3) 16 Millwall 26 31- Maikel Kieftenbeld, George Evans (2) 17 QPR 26 30 - Charlie Austin, Jordy de Wijs, Stefan Johansen, Joe Walsh (4) 18 Coventry 26 30 - Matty James, Viktor Gyökeres, Josh Reid, Fabio Tavares, Lee Camp (5) 19 Derby 26 28 - Teden Mengi, Lee Gregory, George Edmundson, Patrick Roberts (4) 20 Birmingham 26 27 - Sam Cosgrove, Rekeem Harper, Keyendrah Simmonds, Alen Halilovic (4) 21 Nottm Forest 26 26 - Filip Krovinovic, James Garner, Glenn Murray (3) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 22 Rotherham 24 23 - Ryan Giles, Lewis Wing, Josh Vickers (3) 23 Sheff Wed 25 22 - Sam Hutchinson, Andre Green (2) 24 Wycombe 24 15 - Admiral Muskwe, Jordan Obita, Nnamdi Ofoborh, Garath McCleary, James Clark (5)

Shame he couldn't have done something similar with the sale of the stadium.

Most clubs at our level managed a transfer fee or a loan this month, including those in trouble around us.

Yes, we are short up top. Do you think we didn't attempt to sign players? You realise it's more complicated than signing players on Fifa right? And the player has to want to move as well. Most clubs did not manage a transfer fee. Loans don't always cost a fee. We can still sign free transfer players.

We can still sign free transfer players. Most clubs managed a transfer or a loan, irrespective of any fees. Free transfers are the players that nobody else wants. If we were settling for free transfers to fill our void up front we could have done it 6 months ago. Even Wycombe managed to find a loan striker and he has scored for them in his first league appearance. Whether he proves to do the job regularly time will tell but at least they have rolled the dice. We are the lowest scorers in the division. Everyone saw this coming, 2 transfer windows without finding a solution.

And by not good enough, he meant he didn't like him. His performance on Saturday showed he has plenty to offer us still. It's frustrating that we haven't managed to sign another striker, but I seriously don't think we haven't tried.

I didn't say we haven't tried, if we did we failed badly, in 2 windows. The owner backed a poorly performing manager in Monk, then sacked him weeks after employing his back room staff. Yet more bad decisions.
malek
It is not that in time of dire need we weren't able to bring anyone in. It is that we put ourselves in situation where every player not desperate for any kind of contract is dodging as like black plague.
