gurujuan
We want a Joao type forward, not a Nuhiu or Fletcher type. Of all the leading strikers in the championship, only one, Kiefer Moore, is a static target man type 1

Deon Burton showed how a good back to goal striker could help a struggling team. Adebayo at Walsall was meant to be moving on the cheap, not sure if he has yet. Brandon Hanlan at Bristol R wouldn’t be cheap but think he has his contract coming up. Neither traditional target men but strong attackers with the potential to play at this level. Those who probably aren’t championship quality but certainly are target men are Ryan Bowman at Exeter (10 goal) and our old pal Vadaine Oliver now at Gillingham. Would be in the Steve Howard mould of signing but would rattle a few defenders. Would love Adebayo. Looks like he could play higher than League Two. Ryan Loft at Scunthorpe looks the most "Nuhiu-like" type that I've seen recently. While both would be a risk in terms of no Championship experience they wouldn't be too much of a financial risk you wouldn't think.
Gob_Bluth
I just think we need anyone up front who can make the ball stick to take pressure off the defence and allow the midfield to get further up the field Whether that be a battering ram of a target man, a more technical intelligent Teddy Sheringham type forward, or a more mobile player with good hold up and dribbling skills Just something to take off the pressure

I haven’t seen much of loft but he has had a decent background at Spurs and Leicester and seems more mobile and keen to run with the ball than Nuhiu. Would be one to keep an eye on. If he only signed last summer then he’d be expensive now but perhaps gettable in the summer as he reaches his final year

Well some are coming over, but that means there are others still available If we can’t compete with the likes of Birmingham for a player like Cosgrove, we need to be looking elsewhere We could get a far better player for half the price

Then as I said, we should be offloading Lees, Bannan and Reach, in an attempt to at least get some money for them For whatever reason, if we can’t compete at this level, let’s try and get things in order for next season

Any chance we have of staying up involves adding to wot we have and that still very unlikely at this stage? We all hoped this window would give us a chance to stay in this league .... but for me dc not appointing a manager / coach whilst not at least loaning and getting some more free agents has more or less baring a miracle relegated us . It appears the pot is well and truly dry

You couldn’t make it up eh? Don’t get me wrong there might be 1/2 arrivals tomorrow dc always seems to do it last day? But do you think it’ll be wot we really need? Jim
Hindsight is a wonderful thing but we should’ve fought harder to keep Nuhiu. I always thought we’d miss him more than the experts on here did and you know what, we have.

The best thing we can do is try our best to keep Shaw and I think we will have to go with what we've got till the end of the season including keeping Thompson managing the team. Hopefully Chansiri will sell up or find investment to bring to a end the miserable predicament we are in.
