But a first team prospect should have been tied up ages ago, even if we were still happy to sell, just to get some cash in and give ourselves bargaining power. Pathetically unprofessional......... again.

Yeah, because there are absolutely no u23 players with 6 months left on their contracts available at other clubs...

Money issue for me. No way he will have better short term development than playing 1st team football for his boyhood club whether that's in the Championship or League one.

Getting paid on time is an issue for a professional footballer as it is for most of us. Good luck to him.

Yes because Wednesday struggling =/= bad for Shaw's development. Us struggling means he got 1st team opportunities in the first place.

First team opportunities in a team that look like they aren't enjoying playing, regularly get bad results, don't have a manager, sacked 2 managers in half a season, failed to appoint a manager for 4 weeks when in the relegation zone, struggling to pay players on time, recently hit with a points deduction and have failed to file their financial accounts which is not a good sign for the future.

They might loan him out to a team that don't lose every week playing negative tactics and not getting paid on time though.

Well, unless he's playing in the Champions League or UEFA Cup of course...

Well Donnarumma has refused to sign a new contract at Milan as he wants to leave, and I suppose you know the individual status of every player on that list - or are you just making a sweeping statements to try and prove a ridiculous point?

I know but still don't think that means Shaw will suffer. If anything it means he's more likely to get game time. Playing regularly is the most important thing for development playing wise. Maybe a move away provides more financial security but this is the type of thing that is wrong with today's game that young players chase the early money then never quite make it.

Seriously. Can anyone blame the kid.

anyone of us would do the same.

the place where you’re currently working is on a downward spiral. Wages aren’t being paid. Morale is lower than a snakes balls.

another company offers you a position. More money. Better prospects.

it’s a no brainier.

Europe for Celtic is no big deal, it's like saying it would be a good idea to join TNS as they're in Europe every year...

Currently he would not be near that 1st team anyway, and that is a poor Celtic side.

There is literally one Championship club on this list you’ve provided mate.

The majority of clubs on that list you don’t have a clue who they are. It’s not comparable at all.

Plus you can’t compare the transfer policy of Ajax, Barcelona and Arsenal with Sheffield Wednesday. Each situation is different.

I agree on the playing regularly front but this is something he will have discussed. Maybe they will loan him out to a club that doesn't play depressing football with depressing results every week, perhaps a team with a manager and a defined way of playing that will suit his game.
