Freshfish Posted January 25, 2021 Share Posted January 25, 2021 When he pulls on the shirt he gets my support ...if he chucks himself feet first into a tackle and gets sent off I'll be mightily pissssed off ...but that usually happened when he was alone in midfield expected to play in defence, midfield and everywhere else because players went missing. Suppose unless the club sacked Monk in the summer (which whilst not his biggest fan, I wouldn't have done) there was no way we would offer Hutchinson new terms because whatever had gone on between them, Monk had banished Hutchinson from the first team altogether so wouldn't play him. It's likely a number within in the club didn't agree with him being bombed based on his ability (probably why since Monk has gone they've instigated bringing him back), it's also likely he probably didn't really want to leave, but had no choice. Monk being sacked changes that picture altogether. That's not me saying Monk or Hutchinson were right/wrong either. Sometimes things just don't work out between people and one has to make way, I think you have to back a manager in those circumstances or its a messy road.
