Sheffield Wednesday building for a bright future

Great for semi finals but ultimately kept the ground too big for us.

Would have been better with a 6-7k capacity with no obstructed views.

Bring back the roofless kop, I say! It's made the fans soft. Nothing like standing in a gale with the rain hitting you face on. And then getting hit in face by the umbrella of the bloke in front opening up. Those were the days.

Or being able to just meet your mates in the same spot every match without messing around with set seats, which came in handy if there was a gobshite nearby you just moved a little!

At least your legs were kept warm with the bloke behind having a wazz

I'm not necessarily saying that we'd have sold out if we were playing Wigan at home on a Tuesday night in winter, but I think if we got promoted and had a go at teams, we'd be able to fill Hillsborough week in week out in the Premier League, it's just a shame now Hillsborough is only full for cup games against top teams when we're on a good run, or near the top of the league with offers on tickets.

Many young 'uns may not know it but the fans raised a large chunk of the money to pay for that roof.

Back in the day when fans paid for things.

I can remember people getting sponsored for the roof on the Kop by running the Sheffield Marathon, doing raffles etc.
Seems a different world.
