steelcityowlsfan 4,710
I’d love to hear from those older fans that saw him play? He was considered up there with Jackie Charlton and Moore for England recognition. My Dad said he was a good player.

In his day, truly world class. RIP Peter Swan. 5 3

Popular Post scram 22,027
Saw him play in his second stint but too young and starry eyed to be able to judge him as a player At that age all the Wednesday players were idols to me RIP Peter 12 1

Left back 6
I was at his comeback game in about 73/74? I think it was that game where he executed a perfect slide tackle that took up a neat roll of turf, then put it back in place to a great cheer. He was a very elegant footballer for a centre half of that era. His book is a good insight into his take on his story. 4
Oliver Cromwell 253
Was a superb defender, way better than any of his contemporaries and would have been priceless in today's market
matthefish2002 13,052
This is sad news. Before my time but an all time great Wednesday player. Recommend his autobiography. RIP.
Jackie Sewell 402
Fantastic centre half, part of that great side of 60/61. Wonderful half back line of MacAnearny,Swan Kay. Brilliant in the air, long giraffe legs, hard as nails. RIP Peter Swan. 7
