Did this light up?

If so does anyone have a similar photo to this but with it all lit up at night?

i never noticed before, it’s pretty much the same typeface for Hillsborough on the back of the Kip. Nice touch

It was always a fantastic sight walking down Herries Road for a night match, seeing that sign and the floodlights. It gave you a great feeling and a special atmosphere.

I have some photos somewhere I took at night, I'll  try and dig them out.

Yes it did light up, but the neon elements occasionally failed on random letters

Cost too much to maintain so eventually removed...

Remember that. Used to read Sheffield ednesday sometimes. 🤣

I remembered commenting on the picture in the above thread early last year. It certainly takes me back to some of those cracking big attendance night matches in the 80s. The six floodlight pylons certainly created a dramatic scene.

Definitely not the same with the modern pitch lighting, the floodlight towers created an amazing atmosphere, could see ,em for miles and gave the night games a different feeling somehow.

How come you didn't know it lights up?  Thought you had been going since Adam was a lad?

It looked fantastic
