What do we reckon from the players available?

I’d go with:

Westwood

Odubajo Lees Dunkley Palmer

Shaw Bannan

Green Paterson Reach

Windass

Looking at that we desperately need a striker and a left back.

You are probably right based on players currently available. Tho 442 might be better to get the most out of Shaw?

             Westwood

Odubajo Lees Dunkley Palmer

Green  Shaw  Bannan  Reach

     Windass   Paterson

Need a few more players. Definitely a striker, probably 2. Wouldn’t mind a new right back and a left back as well.

Agreed a striker for Windass/Marriot to play off and a left back should be a priority as a minimum.

4-3-3 / 4-5-1 with Joey sitting in front of the defence. I know he’s shít but he’s not been too bad in that role recently and it would in theory allow Shaw to bomb on:

Westwood

Palmer

Lees

Dunkley

Odubajo

Joey

Bannan

Shaw

Harris/Green

Paterson

Reach

Or 4-2-3-1 / 4-4-1-1 if we go more attacking:

Westwood

Palmer

Lees

Dunkley

Odubajo

Shaw

Bannan

Harris/Green

Windass

Reach

Paterson

It is the best team not necessarily bet 11 players.

Some combinations have not worked. Others would be risky.

I like 4-2-3-1 idea it is most versatile system but which players you play I am not sure.

Reach, Shaw and Paterson performance of late have been very good. Odubajo and Lees performances have also improved so you would probably select these as in form.

You need consistent team to improve performance, we have a few who are injury prone which makes this difficult.

Agree that Paterson has to start because of his recent run of goals, but I think his performances have been poor.  I guess goals tend to outweigh performance when looking at strikers (assuming you can separate the two).  Will be interesting to see where Green features in the equation once he’s match fit.
