Jack Marriott returns to Sheffield Wednesday

Never looked fit didn’t look the part and now back here? Derby in a mess like us and we’ve got him till end of season, having said that watched him under lampard was always impressed and IF he can get fit and we decide to commit more than 3/4 over the half way line he mite come good ? Still need a bigger target man to hold the ball up

Derby were worried he would strike form and start scoring goals. Monk thought he was the bees knees and so we did not think sending back would be required. Derby currently in queer street and sending him back suggests reported problems are accurate as they are having more difficulty scoring than us.

He was not fully fit when he arrived and struggled to come to terms with how we were playing. He was not only player to have this problem an most of the fans also were not sure what we were trying to achieve. Therefore think you can excuse his performances in few appearances he has made.

A new manager may get the best out of him. He has pace good control and can find back of net. Problem was sustaining effort throughout the game.

Lets wish him well and hope he can be successful loan player for us.

Hopefully we will do more business than just Green and Marriott.

Oh yes! If we can do a deal with Cardiff and get a left back, or right back from them, instead of having Flint back, who looks like he's crocked for a while, this could be the start of our long road back to league and cup prominence!  I bet Gary Lineker is rubbing his hands with glee at the prospect.

I am guessing Derby have the option to call him back whenever they want until the transfer window shuts don't they surely.

Its obvious they don't want him there now as no one is being paid. But what's to say if the take over does go through they won't want him back then.

Hard to know who’s any good sometimes with all the injuries along with how poorly we sometimes play.

This guy has a bit of time to get fit, so I hope we see him soon. Otherwise it will be an awful signing.

Let’s see how he does when he isn’t living off scraps... we really do need a target man.

That would by my hope, in fact we’d all hope that is the case. Again though, he needs a partner as he’s too lightweight to play the lone striker role None of Paterson, Rhodes, Windass or Kachunga fit the bill.
We are here again, 5 ill fitting strikers

Derby can't afford to have him back and pay his wages so refused to do the callback clause  (this is a guess)

Question is now - does he actually even want to be here?

I wouldn't be surprised if your guess played a big part in their decision, we signed him for the season and the recall option was theirs, why would they choose to add him to their financial problems if they are unlikely to play him much.

In terms of him wanting to be here though, he signed up to a full season with us and it is clear Derby don't value him much. It's up to him to make the most of the opportunity. He was pretty rubbish in the few games he has played so far but that was at a time when most of our players were playing poorly.

Like others have said though, he needs a focal point striker alongside him if he is going to have a chance of being effective on a regular basis and that is still something we do not have.

Whats the betting that Rooney would have wanted him back as an option if he could. Cocu let him leave. Why I think he may still be recalled just not yet.
