Quist 2,766
This guy played well often when coming off the bench. He does have some talent but Villa released him which suggests probably did not apply himself as well as he should. Had lots of offers but turned them down wanted something better it said in many articles. I suspect we put best offer on table and that is why he accepted our offer. If he was looking for right opportunity surely he would want to speak to manager so strange from this aspect as he could have been playing few months ago Signing players without a manager is never a good sign. We could of course have a manager but Covid situation has prevented announcement. We need right sided winger this chap plays on left I sincerely hope we do not go down CC era again when we repeatedly signed players in positions we did not need them and left other areas of team with bare resources. With being free agent Agent inspired move.

Simples! Can't see any problems with that! It's not like people complain about ticket prices or owt!

Will be exactly the case, which is both the gift and the curse. Chansiri wanting to bring in the best available talent - which comes at a cost. Then being blamed for being reckless with his own money and putting the future of the club in jeopardy.

CircleSeven 1,990
A 22 year old who has played for England under 20s but has been released by his club and then not signed up by anyone else sounds like the type of gamble we are going to have to take. There probably a player in there but probably trouble as well! We are going to gambling with every free agent we sign. Some will work, some won’t. At 22 at least he’s probably not a crock. Might be the next Murphy. Might be the next Lewis McGugun.
Buxtongent 2,735
Looks as though we're in our usual situation. A player's name is mentioned. This is followed by a video showing in about 5 mins every goal he scored/was involved in. Then follows a diatribe about a) he's been a free agent for yonks. why haven't we had him before or b) he's not match fit and will pick up a long term injury., or c) replacement for Reach (aa player who has put in probably as much playing time as anybody, and scored a fair number of crackers, despite being a defensive wing back, followed by the inevitable 'according to TMkt has only scored twice last season.. If we pick players on media performances, let's bring him in . He scores more frequently than any of ours, lays on more chances, and gets crosses where they matter. And incidentally, what are we going to do with the 'great Mr SW'-Bannan. On the recent highlights vs Derby, I thought he'd gone colour blind, or is he just forbidden to pass to his own side. The number of missed passes fro him was unbelievable, and far exceeded the number of good ones.

How good a player has been elsewhere is irrelevant. There are a myriad of factors into why somewhere else would have been a success How someone looked on loan at 18/19 has little to no bearing on how the appear later on in their career It only matters how they perform here. The amount of players we've had that looked world beaters elsewhere and turned into unmitigated steaming piles of poo once the got out on the hallowed turf of Hillsborough should be a testament to that 1

Like the square peg / round hole scenario.

gizowl 1,442
Just find it a bit strange that he wasnt deemed good enough in the summer not only by us but other clubs who were supposedly interested. For me I would have appointed Cook by now who would unearth some gems from the lower leagues as he knows them so well. Signing players before a manager comes in is giving out a worrying message to the chosen one. Chansiri and his side kicks are winding me up more as each day goes by.
