That's a league winning 11.

Wildsmith

Palmer

Dunkley

(New)

Brown

Dele-Bashiru

Adeniran

Byers

Green

Kamberi

Shodipo

A second eleven not too shabby either if we can finish our recruitment off with a left sided CB. Also if I'm greedy then Sims for Green would be the icing on the cake.

It's always seemed a logical approach. I'm hoping for sizemic shifts at the club to allow for such sense to shine through. We can hope.

Hard to disagree, although not sure Johnson is a left back in a back four. Think we’ll see Palmer or Brown there.

We ought to know what to expect up front from Windass and Gregory - just needs Corbeanu, Kamberi, Green or Shodipo to step up with 10+ goals and some match winning performances and I really expect us to be up there.

And avoid the injury curse. And pay the players.

Except the most important cog in any team a goal scoring No 9, the player we needed at the start of the season, we still don't seem to have 2 days before the first game of the season. Which with the lack of goals in the team with no Windass and all of the unknown qualities from new signing is more than a bit worrying.

Lets hope we keep it tight at the back and 1 goal wins us a lot of games. As last season we only scored more than once on 8 out of 46 games and picked up just 1 point from losing positions.

You right but who would you have gone for ? Regarding striker? Seeing as we can’t pay a fee Gregory about the best we could get can’t really think of many other free agents ?

I wouldn't worry about it.

Three weeks ago we were looking dead certs to fall right through the division, with a first XI including a bunch of completely untested development squad players.

Now we are one or two players away from a good quality (for League 1), well balanced squad, with strength in depth in almost every position, without spending a penny.

Can't grumble at that.

Stinks of a mix between Turners 04/05 failed start and Irvine’s mid season spendathon on 2010. Neither ended well.

need to give our Darren time though.

Turner did a decent rebuild job in League 1 tbf.

Those were largely the players that got us promoted under Sturrock.

If we could have got him i would have tried to sign Marcus Forss on loan from Brentford.

A young finish striker got 11 in 18 at AFC Wimbledon a few season ago and only made 9 starts last season with the strikeforce Brentford have but is 6ft 2" , quick and mobile and would have got us 15-20 goals in league one.

I suspect he will end up at a championship team though now.
