Who would have thought that spending £10m on a seventh forward, probably taking us over the three year FFP limits when we had greater needs in central midfield and defence wouldn't work out very well?

Only days after signing Sam Winnall as well. If Winnall had been given as much game time as Rhodes he would have given you more work rate and potentially more goals too. It just didn’t make sense at the time and we’ve suffered for it the past 3 seasons.

Lincoln signed Josh Griffiths on loan from West Brom.

Really surprised we didn’t go for him given Moore’s connection to WBA. Good young keeper with England U’21 experience.

Surely we’ve not been beaten to a transfer by Lincoln?!

he was the keeper I really wanted us to sign. Very disappointing we seem to have either passed on him or Lincoln beat us to the signing.

I'm just going on how every multi-position recruitment process I've ever been involved in over the years has worked - we'd have set parameters for the different profiles of staff we were looking for, and would look to recruit to those.

Obviously if the best fit for a certain position is available under budget, then by all means take the excess and put it where you think it might make the most difference - that makes sense.

But don't just charge in with no forward planning or precise overview of the whole process. Otherwise, you could end up in a situation where you suddenly realise you've spent all the budget and still haven't recruited one of the positions you were looking to fill.

I'm glad we agree on Hunt's quality - there are no guarantees in football of course, but in my eyes he's a clear upgrade on Palmer at right wing-back, and allows the latter to shift across to the left, where he's actually looked more assured for some reason, or even into a back three if needed.

And that's a best-case scenario. One injury to Palmer or Brown, and we'll definitely be glad we signed Hunt.

Football is not line any other business

:Chansiri:

In this instance, in comparison to your experience, it's actually correct. In my experience of working with agents and players, it's not anyway.

Burnley could let Bailey Peacock-Farrell leave on loan this summer ‘if they get a £300,000 fee’, reports Alan Nixon.

Nixon writes in The Sun on Sunday that Burnley and Northern Ireland goalkeeper Peacock-Farrell could leave on loan this summer.

He’s previously been linked with the likes of Sheffield Wednesday and Birmingham City though Nixon writes that Bournemouth are now ‘in the chase’.

The Clarets though want a £300,000 loan fee for Peacock-Farrell’s services and Nixon writes how that will likely deter both Birmingham and Sheffield Wednesday.

That'll be the fans fault

Frank Fielding is currently a free agent 32 year old former Derby, Bristol city keeper over 200 appearances at league one and championship level and would be both within our budget and an improvement on what we have.

But this is Wednesday, we will pay £300k for the lad from Burnley then cover his £18k a week wages too, then say we have no budget left for anyone else such as a striker.

A sign of the times. It's also a pity that neither Wildsmith or Dawson ever seem to have been on loan to gain more experience of playing first team football like this lad Griffiths has, it has considerably enhanced his worth after a season with Cheltenham.

Our policy re letting players out on loan has been poor for years. TBH if we'd let Shaw go out on loan he'd possibly be still with us if he'd done well for say a L1 club in the first half of the season or the latter half of the previous season.

I'd say large indoor events such as night clubs where their all packed in like sardines yes.

Open air events like football stadiums probably not so much.

But organisers can do what they want, personally at Wednesday they should

announce that you don't needed a jab so you attend at your own risk.

People in the art risk category should be offered a socially distances area.

Anyone else with a session ticket who still isn't happy should be offered with a refund it an alternative iFollow pass.

Not a fan of BPF for 300k. Seems like a waste of our limited money and obviously he would go straight back to Burnley if he is successful. Obviously this is the reality of loan deals now, most have some sort of fee. Especially from the Prem teams.

I assume that's approximately 300,000 times our entire transfer budget, so I fully expect Dejphon to be balls deep into that deal by lunchtime.

Looking at free agents in all positions. These guys are all still available and would improve the squad.

GK Jamal Blackman, Josh Sims RM, Jerome Sinclair RW/ST, Dan Crowley AM, Sam Baldock ST, Paul Mullin ST, Conor Ogilvie CB.

Ain't 2 or 3 of the above signed elsewhere

Mullin is with Wrexham, Baldock will sign for Derby and Sinclair is utter rubbish.
