Random thought but the best value to be found in a January window is often players from summer leagues whose contracts expire at the end of the year rather than in June - so mainly Norwegian/Swedish.

A lot of the players wouldn't be up to Championship standard but Watford have signed a lad who's just scored 19 goals for the Norwegian champions on a free, they obviously think he's up to it.

Mentioned Zinckernagel on here before, even if we were interested in him we wouldn’t be able to compete with Watford financially though. Interested to see how he does for them.

Charlie Colkett at Östersunds is another one I think Championship clubs will be looking at. 25 year old creative central midfielder, was Chelsea’s youth team captain when they won the UEFA youth cup with the likes of Abraham and Mount in the team. Not really what we need in this window, but would be a good replacement for Bannan if he leaves in summer

The managerial appointment is the single biggest signing of January.

Maybe its beneficial to have chansiri pursuing transfers, a new foreign manager won't know the league or why a certain style of play in this league is needed to do well.

Joe Pigott has been a target for a while,  don’t know what he’s worth to Wimbledon though and wether were in a position to pay it

He is Wimbledon's best and most important player as well as their best hope of survival in League One.

At 27 he wouldn't have much resale value, but would be good bet to add some firepower to our front line for little money.

In League One he looks a good player, capable of creating chances for himself and others. Certainly worth taking a look at.

What's with theJoss to  WBA rumours , pre - Cooky even ?

Maybe if Zahore loan's thrown in , if he's fit,  and must have Millwall call back.

I’m not convinced Chansiri does either, to be fair

Sadly they would be the only ones we could afford and who we'd end up with.

Nonsense, there are Plenty of good players desperate for a chance to play Championship football who wouldn't cost much or are available for Free.

It is our scouting that is miserably failing to identify such players and bring them to the club.

So quick scout across social media this morning

Rhodes to QPR is nearly done

Brown being recalled by Chelsea and going to either Reading or Blackburn

Penney going to Swindon

Flint and Marriott both being sent back

This would be good business and would surely give us room to bring in three quality loans from premier league teams.

I would love us to sign a Kenwyn Jones type an unknown younger player not getting any play time at the team he is at, who just comes to us and clicks - we don't seem to have much look with loan players unless we are paying silly wages for them as we did with hector and Murphy.

For me there has to be some good players in the youth set up of the like of Southampton, Man City, Newcastle, Burnley that we could look to take on loan for 6 months or that may be released end of the season and we could pick up cheap.

We need to be starting to plan for the next 2 to 3 years not the 6 month quick fix options, we have wasted so much money on failed loans in the last few season, Onomah, Aarons Lazaar, Bates, Da Cruz, Wickham, Brown, Marriott, Flint - how many millions wasted on players that have barely played for us.
