Is this for real? You want to get Jermaine Jackson, Rick Savage and the Rotherham chairman involved.

Anybody is better than current executive mob.

Millers make a profit and may lead to a full Tony takeover.

Of course, he'd have to sell Rovrum.

Can you let me know when you ring Jermaine Jackson and ask him. I’d quite like to listen in.

Even he wouldn't have appointed Pulis.

It's not impossible but highly unlikely. We had a much more realistic option in the period 2004 to 2007, before we had all sorts of rumours about big money purchases and before potential buyers like Geoff Sheard put their heads above the parapet. A much lower figure could have paid off the debts and it could have been a straightforward share dilution issue. I would need to find my notes but a minimum of £15m in the early years could have sorted it although it didn't provide much onward investment. There were a number of issues making it tricky including some of the existing board not wanting to lose control but there just wasn't the will from enough ordinary supporters. There was a general reaction that many thought they had already put too much in by purchasing tickets/season tickets.

Quite simply it would be impossible to do.

Need to ditch this thread or move it away from matchday.

Based on your figures and rigorous investment analysis, you may be right.

While difficult, of course it can be done, Rangers fans doing it right now.

Chansiri would gain some respect and dignity too.

Great idea and good to see someone trying to find a way out of this mess were in, imagine the squabling on here if everyone had put in hard earned money and things were not going their way, we would all want to be player/manager, chairman and catering manager.

Wish it was all that easy.

Doesn't seem to have held back Bayern Munich or most German clubs.

Nor Barcelona, Real Madrid, etc, etc.

They won't be able to fund frig all - I have just had a quick read and they will have no financial input into the club. I like the idea but we need funds not fads

They all have a VERY VERY rich sponsor I have told you this before. Allianz and Audi and Adidas all chuck into the Munich pot.

Barcelona have a very very rich president as do Real and are global entities - it's a pipe dream and if we ever do want to compete this is never the way forward. (DC isn't either).

Barcelona give their sponsorship free, UN recently.

All top German andSpanish clubs are fan owned, without majors sponsors.

Hasn't stopped Sevilla dominating Europe 2 for last few years.

Plus , we have a company wanting to give us £150 million sponsorship which would no doubt be firmed up with fan ownership.

So Adidas, Allianz and Audi are not major sponsors or benefactors then? Ok I like your logic. Sevilla have a very good model of finding players developing them and selling them for vast profit something we have NEVER managed to do.

You will find all TOP German clubs have rich benefactors  here an extract from Borussia Dortmund  The answer to the question 'who owns Borussia Dortmund?' is quite intriguing as there are two participators in the ownership. The German giants are primarily owned by Borussia Dortmund GmbH & Co and KGaA - two separate corporate outfits. Hans-Joachim Watzke is the current chairman of the club. The term 'BVB' takes from the clubs official name, Ballspielverein Borussia Dortmund. Using 'Ballspielverein' before the initial name indicates that Dortmund specialise in ball sports and the final 'B' in the nickname is completed by the term 'Borussia'.

Can't be bothered to carry on googling - you are talking rounduns in that ALL top teams who actually win things have rich benefactors including Sevilla

Without the ground, the only valuable assets that the club has are the staff/players and the brand ("goodwill").

DC may possibly sell the club for £1 but, given all the debt that must be around at the moment, that would be minus tens of millions to shore up once the club has been bought.

Additionally, you would have to buy the ground back eventually, although a fair and reasonable rental agreement that benefits seller and purchaser could be agreed in the meantime. Buying back the ground would again cost tens of millions and I dare say that there could be competitors, especially in the retail sector, who would be in for the land alone.

Whether the land is worth £60m in terms of residential or commercial prices, again, I would doubt it. DC was queried on his market valuation anyway so expecting $60m cash as part of any deal might be very optimistic

So, is it feasible? Unless you know four or five thousand fans willing to stump up at least £10k-20k each, not even close.

By law, no German club is allowed to get control of a club , ie only less than 50% ownership , and only Red Bull got around this.

I'd be more than happy with this arrangement with Chansiri.

Of course, things would have to change and Brentford make £20 million a year following Sevilla 's example.

Nothing can be worse than present situation.
